Reviewed 29 September 2012

Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and was very disapointed with the hotel. We arrived late at night to be greeted by the small outdated looking reception. Check in was OK but difficult as the staff spoke very little English. We were shown to our room which was a standard room, small but OK for a couple. We spent the first night trying to get our bearings of the resort as it is quite large and very poorly lit at night so it can be difficult finding your way around when your not sure where you are going. Website is a complete contradiction and very misleading, fanstastic photography but it doesnt live up to it. Most of the photos are all of the private more expensive areas whcih look lovely but the standard areas are much worse.

Internet:
The Wifi was a complete and utter joke, it was very hit and miss as to weather you could get connected to the internet or not. Most public areas you can pick up a signal however you need to login with your room number and it will only allow 1 device to be connected at a time and would disconnect you randomly and not let you back on, even though we were staying for 2 weeks we was told that we only have wifi access for the first week for some reaosn. They have kindly put a blocker system across their internet also so it can be difficult to access the sites you want. Some very random including wikipedia, The Sun news and anything to do with cocktails all block (to ensure its absolutely impossible to actually get cocktails unless you know exactly what you want). Our solution to the problems were if you cant get on with your own room number keep trying other room numbers until one works and a proxy website www.clickyoutube.com will get round most of the blockers.

Buffet Restaurant:
The entire food experience at any outlet from the hotel was disgusting and a complete shambles probably breaking any kind of health and safety legislation they have out there. The main buffet restaurant was much like a school/work canteen and extremely repetitive, very large with masses of choice but exactly the same every day. The food was mainly aimed at Turkish guests with little English food unless you want to eat soup, pizza and chips every day. Breakfast was awful they couldnt even cook boiled eggs properly. We tried so called '5 minutes of egg' to find it was totally overcooked and inedeble then the '8 minutes of eggs' was completely raw. Best bet for breakfast probably an omelette. None of the food got replenished at breakfast so if you came late the cheeses and meats would be warm and dried out or gone after sitting in 30c heat for 4 hours. All of the food at all times was at best luke warm but mostly cold, even if it had just been replenished by a 'chef'. Service in the restaurant hit and miss, sometimes OK but mostly terrible. Unless you arrived at the start of the service all the tables had been cleared and not re-set with cutlery or glasses so you were often waiting 10 minutes to get cutlery and a drink or sometimes you wouldnt get anything at all, especially breakfast times you were much better finding a drink yourself rather than waiting to see if they finally notice you. One of us also suffered with diarhea for the duration of the holiday despite taking tablets so the food cant be handled hygenicly as we didnt eat outside the resort.

AlaCartes:
All in all another terrible failure, we ate in 3 of them then gave up and stuck with the buffet restaurant. No problems booking at 1000 sharp as other people have said, maybe everyone had given up as we did. At all the restuants the service is absolutely atrocious even though they only do 20 people a night and have 10 staff around they dont seem to have the slightest idea what they are doing as if they have just walked off the streets. Waiting a long time for drinks, menus, food etc. Food mostly warm if you were lucky and also noticed food is all pre-cooked sitting around the kitchen for god knows how long then just re-heated.
Chinese: The Chinese was probably the better of the 3 restaurants we visited as long as you dont mind every option deep fried. Service wasnt too bad here but felt very sick afterwards because everything is saturated in grease and oil.
Turkish: Most dissapointing seeing as it was in Turkey, waited 15minutes to get menus and drinks then a selection of every starter instantly appeared (obviously pre-plated sitting on trays in the kitcen all night). Most of it was acceptable however we got sick of looking at it as we waited another half an hour for main course. They didnt clear the 10 orf 15 starter plates for our mains so we had to eat with all that still sitting on the table, very off putting ended up walking out it was so bad.
Italian: Terrible! Proabably the worst of all, again waiting and waiting. Starters were acceptable but main course was a disaster, had to wait 30mins despite people who arrived AFTER us having starters and mains. We ordered fillet steak served with potato cake, unfortunately we got something completely different. The steak was deffinately not fillet probably ribeye or rump, incinerated on the outside and raw in the middle. They also never asked how you would like it cooked. They must have ran out of potato cakes as we saw on other guests tables, looking delicious.but they gave us some kind of potato puree like watery Smash that looked as if it had just been farted onto the plate with some other kind of puree. The staff obviously cant speak Enlgish at all, they cleared our untouched plates and asked how the meal was, I said it was terrible but no response just smiles and continued clearing.

Snack Bars:
The snack bars were much the same as everything else, all prep cooked and luke warm. You get a bit worried when you order roast chicken or bollognaise and it appears 90seconds later! The food was acceptable as long as you dont mind it cold, toastie bar was awful choice of ham or cheese and pre made toasties sitting out in 35c heat for 8 hours then they heat them back up. Cheese was the horrible inedible artificial cheese and the bread was so oily and squashed it was like eating tar.

Bars:
Best one being the panorama bar where you have waiter service but they keep you waiting a very long time. Service very poor partly due to too few staff and also bacause they seem to favour Turkish guests and serve them first even if you have been waiting longer. If you are sitting at a table waiting for service from the waiters you can be waiting for 20-30mins to have your order taken then another 10-15mins to get your drinks. Also noticed at the start of the nights they serve small, weak drinks and as the nights get later the drinks become larger and stronger to the point where it is undrinkable to disgourage you from ordering more. It was difficult to get cocktails at all the bars because they didnt have any kind of menu telling you what is availible and the staff all speak barely any English. They do offer the premium brands such as Smirnoff, Bacardi, Becks etc but when you order you must specify clearly that you want the branded drink or they give you the local alternative option.

Entertainment:
Well none existant we wasnt very entertained to say the least! During the day an animation team patrols the pools and beech trying to round up a few people drunk enough to take part in the activities such as dancing etc. The same 4 songs every single day very repetitive every day. The Sky bar/club was where we spent most evenings but entertainment mostly very bad. Same repetour of 10 songs they play every single night and early in the evening they play better variety but it is all local cover versions (they must have not wanted to pay for the proper versions!). Performances all quite bad particularly DJ sax, playing songs then every now and then playing a few notes on the saxophone over the top! Best night was the White Night/Heaven where they dress the club up nicely in white robes and have laser shows for the night however, as with many other nights, the club becomes extremely crowded. Love the way on the website they advertise the entertainment as 'one of the worlds most sought after DJs' and 'Europes most succesful DJ' most deffinately not!

Pastry Shop:
Here we found the best food from the entire resort and ate more here than anywhere else! A vast array of delicious cakes, sweets and deserts or savoury rolls. Mostly all delicious the only dissapointment was they used some kind of thick cream substitute instead of real dairy cream so some items looked good but lacked on flavours. Ice cream very nice, all CarteDor and Walls (Agida) ice creams and lollys availible at other snack bars.

Surroundings:
To look at the resort was quite pleasent - as long as you dont risk ordering food or drink! All areas were mostly kept clean and tidy apart from the ill looking stray cats that you would find in large numbers across the place and trying to get into kitchens with guests encouraging them by feeding them. The beech was nice but the thatched rooves of the umberellas looked a bit old with patched up holes and leaks, piers off the beech were good but the sun loungers were all taken very early.

All in all we tried to have a good time but was very disapointed considering we have saved for a long time and spent a fortune to come here. One positive was the location, lovely veiws and right on a small beech but other than that it really was awful. We were lucky to have lovely weather the whole time but also noticed everything apart from one small bar is outside or open air, the restaurants all have no walls etc so if it rains you have nowhere to go.

I would not recomend anyone consider coming here, we spent a long time choosing where to go and thought by all the good reviews and websites it sounds prefect but its too good to be true a complete let down and dissapointment, dont waste your money like we did.

This was my third visit to turkey and I have to say Bodrum is most definitely the most beautiful. Very green with bright blue sea and the transfer time is a mere 45 minutes to the hotel. Upon arrival our luggage was dealt with four us and a grand yet perhaps slightly dated reception was our first insight into the hotel. We checked in and were instantly offered 3room options of which we asked to view a standard, superior and duplex! Having never been aware by thomsons at booking stage of a duplex we were slightly dubious as to why we were now being offered it instead of the two rooms we had booked! We were shown the superior room first!.. How any hotel could call this even a room let alone superior I have no idea!!! There was no balcony just railings and doors which looked into a dark corner where the cleaners stored all the dirty laundry outside! There was even an overturned trolley..the next option however was the duplex and needless to say we never even considered looking at the standard room after!!! There are 4 duplex apartments available boasting two spacious apartments linked with a staircase, with two large balconys and two shower rooms!! Heaven!!! The outlook from the balcony is the beach and the upstairs even has a large double day bed to relax on!!! I do not know why we were to offered this initially but iris ideal for anyone travelling with older children or parents, or friends who don't mind open plan..there are no doors to divide the apartments just stairs so I wouldn't recommend for families with small children necessarily. As we travelled as a group of 5 adults and one child, the other room we had was a family room and again I would highly recommend this to anyone with small children just be mindful of locks on each door!! The rooms are not huge but modern and located around the pool so easily accessible during the day. I would comment however that we paid a significant amount extra for the family room to find that several families were able to upgrade for free upon arrival!! Perhaps a benefit if travelling out of season!.. We did two trips! After reading excellent comments on hear Jimmys speed boat was first!! I would NEVER recommend this for small children despite what jimmy says and be extremely mindful of the weather!! Jimmy had urged us to book for the Saturday as the weather woulld change with lots of wind later in the week!! We now realise this was a lie to get us to buy quicker as the trip was completely ruined by the rough sea,, with all 12 on board being tossed and thrown around the boat in the middle of he ocean!! We saw nothing but a half built hotel but none of he supposed islands that were promised! When booking we had been promised by jimmy that if we weren't happy we could get our money back however it became obvious that despite 2 hours of terrifying crying by our 3 year old neice-money back was no longer an option!!! I am sure in calm weather this trip may be great butt children must be old enough to sit up and hold on fully on their own as no life jackets are offered! The second trip we booked on the stret outside the hotel to swim with dolphins and I would highly recommend this to anyone! It cost us £ 35 each and was well worth it!! Just make sure you book in advance as he bus is small!!! I thought the variety of food in the hotel was excellent and comparable to other all inclusive resorts however the service in areas was rude in areas and non existent in others. 'Ali' at the pool bar went above and beyond during our stay and was noticeably the best member of staff we encountered. The adult beach is luxury and highly recommended if you like peaceful sunbathing on exceptionally comfy beds right on the sea!! Overall we had a great holiday with fantastic weather throughout, but I can understand why some reviews are disappointing as there are many areas in need of improvement!

Having spent 5 days at the Voyage Torba in May this year, my daughter and I returned for a week in September, accompanied by my 81 year old mother!!. The complex has stood up well to a full season of holiday makers, there was obviously a little wear and tear but nothing to grumble about.

The food was not as good as our first visit but the hotel was full and I imagine it is difficult to obtain consistency.

My mother stayed in the Deluxe rooms and I have to say if I can afford it next year thats where I will be.

I'm not sure I understand peoples complaints about staff, we had fantastic service at all times from all staff.

I have however realised after two visits that the rooms are a little variable and there are some badly situated rooms. We were more than satisfied with our rooms on both visits, however I don't think I would pay extra for a 'superior' room as it wasn't as nice as our standard room in May.

The Spa is just a little slice of heaven. A Turkish bath with peeling and foam massage is a must for Spa first timers. Also the hairdressers do a great manicure and pedicure.

Room Tip: Difficult to know how to advise - Deluxe area is really worth it if the budget allows

Arrived at Voyage Torba in the begining of September i2012 n the early hours. The Hotel reception outstanding definitely 5 *. Had high hopes for our appartment to be the same, this was not the case. The room was tiny basic well in need of updating and most definitely not a 5* lucky to scrape a 3*. The sink from the bathroom is in the living area. Restaurant caters for continental and Turkish customers but not English unless you have egg and chips for your breakfast. Due to drunken yobs had to move room three times because the management were unable to control them. one room stunk of damp room 5118 supposedly a family room, view from balcony a brick wall, the toilet door locked from outside and the generator kept us awake. broken furniture in this room on the balcony and filthy, I have the photographs to prove it. whilst in our third room 5145 the appartment upstairs flooden from the toilet into our bathroom and we had to be moved again. Animation team failed at every show to introduce themselves in English but they did in Dutch, Turkish and German. I reported unacceptable drunken behaviour on the Beech to a Manager who failed to take any action or tackle it. The biggest problem for English Guests is the reception staff they do not speak English the majority of the managers do not speak English and do not understand English even in an emergancy as I found out. The only people are the Guest relations, so if you do have an emergency of any kind make sure that guest relations are on duty during the day only. Cleaning staff are hit and miss, having stayed in three rooms one was cleaned to a better standard than the others. the mattress is rock hard and you have three pillows between two adults and it is difficult to obtain anymore. I would not recommed this resort for couples looking for a relaxing holiday. Did not enjoy any of the food, on day three of my holiday, I saw Ad Lab technicians taking samples of all the food, from then on I ate outside the Hotel.

From the moment we are arrived we were treated like Royalty! We arrived on 3rd September for two weeks and only wish it could have been longer. The staff are amazing, especially the hard working restaurant and bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very polite and friendly. Our room was comfortable with the exception of pillows, that were a little hard. The hotel throughout was extremely clean, the gardens beautiful and pools and beach areas very comfortable. Food was superb in all of the outlets and drinks were top Brands and not local. Booking for next year at the weekend. Special mention to Ahmet, Guest Relations, Ali and Sehmuz in the restaurant? Entertainment was really good, especially the White Party.

Room Tip: If you can afford to upgrade, try the deluxe private area.

We arrived at this hotel at 6.45pm on the 3rd september 2012,receptionist could not speak good english,we were given a form to fill in with no explanation on what to do.We were allocated our room and luggage was then taken to our room by the bellboys which was a short walk from reception.Luggage was taken to our room and the bellboy would not move until a tip was handed over to him which we did not feel was appropriate as he was not particularly welcoming. The state of the cleanliness of the room was disgusting to say the least, thick black cobwebs above the bed, floors and edges around the floor space had not seen a broom or a mop for ages. The bathroom and shower area their was mould in the shower cubicle, rubber seal was broken and left hanging and was thick of gunge .The toilet was brown and needed badly descaling so that tells us that a toilet brush had not been used down this toilet for months. The sink area, basin was dirty, build up of dirt behind tap and chrome work of tap had not been cleaned.Floors and edges of bathroom were disgusting.
The safe in the room had been locked by the previous guests so therefore we couldnt open it .We then rang reception to complain about all of the above and were told by reception that someone would be sent asap to resolve all of these issues.
Bed mattress is rock hard bad backs all holiday.

After 2 days and several complaints and speaking to the rep Katie finally the safe was opened after which we had had to carry our money and jewellery around with us for 2 days .
Cleaning of the room throughout the stay was a joke we happened to come back on several occasions after 6pm and the room still hadnt been cleaned from all day so we were in the room most times when the cleaner did attend she was in the room and out in 7 mins on all of the times we saw her , no wonder we both went down with stomach upsets throughout the stay of this holiday ,
Food in the main buffet area was the same every day whether you went in for breakfast dinner or evening meal , This hotel does not cater for the english people unless you want salad chips or soup every day , Sweets looked good untill you tasted them they do not use cream in any of there deserts and are not good to the tastebuds , Icecream was the best as it was cartedor ,
Al a carte resturants you had to ring @ 10.00am every morning to book , most times throughout the holiday we were not successful, So we only manage to try the mexican which was no better then the buffet resturant only difference you were waited on at the table ,
Main reception bar was a joke you could be sat outside waiting for a drink most times for up to 30mins at one time, unless you were turkish, waiters did more talking to the turkish guests and would not bat an eyelid , I complained several times about the service at this bar and how rude the waiters were to you if you asked them to serve you . We stopped using this bar as we did not feel comfortable in this area,
Entertainment at this Hotel was generally rubbish , with one exception DJ Sax he was excellent a very well presented show he put on a must see ,
Circus Act at the amphitheatre was a joke mistakes throughout .
The only thing i would rate at this hotel was the weather it was excellent throughout the stay there were plenty sunbeds scattered around if you wanted the better beds we suggest you get up before 8am and beat the turkish guests to them
All in all what we paid for this holiday we would have had better in spain in a 3 star Hotel.
I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy and strongly advised any body thinking of booking to reconsider before having your holiday ruined ,

Room Tip: All English were allocated rooms beginning with the number 4 or 5 most of the guests we spoke to we...

We had the pleasure of staying in the deluxe area of voyage Torba in August, We had an amazing two weeks with our teenage boys. The staff who work in the deluxe area are polite, helpful and quite literally cater to your every need. The young lady, whose name unfortunately escapes me, who serves the guests in that area is a credit to the whole Voyage team, she worked most days around the pool area and was always polite and helpful. We must also mention Mustafa who kept us entertained for two weeks, not only at the poolside but when we visited the sky bar in the evenings. Nothing was too much trouble for these particular members of staff. The whole complex was extremely clean and tidy, the main restaurant was a little like a school canteen but the food was cooked well, very fresh and catered for all dietary needs. Our rep in the deluxe area was also extremely helpful, any problems we had, which were not many, were sorted immediately. Our only complaint would be the cleaning service, I understand they are very busy, however, there were occasions when our rooms were not being cleaned till 6 pm, not so good when you have had a very relaxing day by the pool and want a shower !!! All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would not hesitate to recommend Voyage Torba to anyone, we will definitely return in the future..
