“More positives than (small) negatives...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

Stayed at beginning of May this year, which is early in the season and probably explains the negatives in my review, which with a little bit effort and experience will easily turn these around.
Food was delicious and a great choice is available. We ate in many of the a la carte restaurants & had no problem in booking. Vast choice in the main dining room for breakfast from fruits, yogurts, fresh breads, to cooking stations with omelettes, pancakes etc. We ate lunch at the Beach restaurant which doubles as the a la carte Italian in evenings. Waiter service top notch nothing too much trouble and the food delicious. Italian a la carte the best we tried. Recommend this option. Turkish a la carte food disappointing and service needs to be improved, not at the same level as the Italian. Mexican was very tasty. Seafood enjoyable and waiters all trying their best to provide great service. Drinks ,there are lots of bars to try out, however service & quality of order did vary noticeably. Feel this is down to experience & with a little bit if organisation and training easily fixed. Central bar service needs improving as does the quality of drinks being served, especially cocktails. Waited on one occasion 30mins for a coffee despite reminding the waiter & eventually duty manager of my order. Lengthy waits happened daily with our & from observations other guests orders. Table drink service & quality at the Sky bar very good. You can tell the difference in experience, lots of Tom Cruise moves & quality consistently high!. Our room was 2 bedroom & spacious & clean. No complaints at all. Beach & Pools very clean with plenty of sunbeds to go round. Entertainment ok with live bands at Sky bar at night followed by DJ. Spa is recommended had a fabulous Turkish bath. On the whole staff very friendly and helpful. Overall I would recommend and yes would go back. Compared though to Voyage Sorgun which I was at last year, a bit to go to achieve the same level.

I stayed here for the 3rd time. Yes the weather was a bit off the first week but that is not the hotel fault. It is so well position for an all inclusive. Bus stop just outside the gate and it cost us 3tl each to get into Bodrum bus station which is at the top of Bodrum in the centre and from there you can go anywhere. Bus drivers all speak a little English and are very helpful. Food is excellent and a very wide choice of a la carte restaraunts. Bedrooms are excellent really for standard bedrooms. Had a look at Voyage private yes rooms are nice and if you want a quite holiday then this where you should be. You also get your own retaraunt which serves anything you ask for. Delux rooms now they are specially nice especially there bathrooms. Bath, separate shower, his and her sinks, dressing gowns the works but the down side is NO private restaraunts. There is an adult only beach with a jetty. Evening entertainment was very good. They do party nights as well. I met a gentleman there this was his 13th visit, this speaks for the place. They also do ALL branded drinks and ALL cocktails are IN all inclusive.
Thank you Habib for making our stay so pleasant once again.

Room Tip: Away from the night life, can get a bit noisy if you go tobed before 11pm

Hotel really nice and got upgraded to a superior room which was nice. Staff really friendly and helpful. Restaurants all pretty good but don't cater for vegetarians eg. vegetable Biriani with chicken!!
Rooms could do with better quality bedding and general cleaning could be better. The hotel grounds were immaculate and beach area excellent. The staff at the beach were very attentive and efficient.
The weather was not great but overall a good holiday.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We have recently returned from another 10 days at the Voyage Torba having discovered this gem last year. We have travelled all over the world and stay a couple of times at all inclusive 5 star places annually. This is the first time in a decade of being together that we have returned to the same hotel which is a big compliment from us as that is not our style! Clearly as we have chosen to return, we rate it highly. So the following review is for the two visits and is our opinion, as everything is subjective, of the hotel rather than the area.
I have included a few little tips that I have picked up on now that we have been twice. And as I tend to write a lot, there are headings to jump to if don’t want to read the full essay 

General appearance and maintenance
This is probably thee only place that I have visited either in the UK or abroad that is not done justice by photos you see online. It is stunning and having been last year we worried if the shine would be taken off. Certainly not the case! It remains a fantastic place that makes you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive and is fast becoming our home from home.
The cleanliness, upkeep and thought that have gone into the hotel are second to none. It is kept impeccably clean and the staff works tirelessly to keep it this way. The managers keep on top of things, prompting staff and at times we could not even tell what they were being prompted to clean as it is so well maintained!
The use of colours, fabrics and furniture to define areas is exceptional. There is lots of choice as to where to sit or lay so you can be in a busier area or quieter spot. We are very different in our choice as sun V’s shade worshipper but not a problem as again – loads to choose from.
This year there were a few new things including the steak house. We feel it is testament to the level of maintenance and continual upkeep that the new restaurant fitted seamlessly into the resort without looking out of place or brand spanking new.

The rooms are comfortable and ample big enough as you spend the least amount of time here. We have now had an almost identical room on the ground floor and first level. Each has their merits but my personal choice is patio over balcony as we used it more. The restocked mini-bar is very welcomed as great deals of places do not do this inclusively.

I felt very comfortable walking around the complex on my own as well as going to the bar. Staff are friendly and welcoming irrespective of gender, age or ethnicity – as it should be.

Tip
* Keep your eyes peeled for all the little intricacies around the resort such as artwork and statues. There is always something to see and even after 20 days here I think we may still have missed things!
* Treat yourself to the Hamam package in the spa– it is lovely and a great way to kick-start the holiday. It is very reasonable compared to many hotels and helps your skin in the sun (i.e. prevents peeling).
* If you are not sensitive to specific products, save room in your packing and use the hotel complimentary products. They are olive oil based and of high quality

Staff & service
There are lots of staff available all the time and I think this is the key to the success. From the gardeners to the security guards; waiting staff to chefs; reception to guest relations; dancers to animation; spa to bar – all the staff present well, are friendly and accommodating. They say hello to you as you walk around and certainly appear hard working and committed. In two years of visits there has only been one member of staff that we would consider to be ignorant and bordering on rude. He actually stood out so much this year due to everyone being so friendly!

It is fair to say that not all staff has as good a level of English as others however they all try and with so many different languages accents and dialects to deal with I feel they do really well. If you listen to how various people order even just a beer there are so many different ways of saying it…even if English!
On occasion we did get something different to what we ordered (i.e. Martini with no lemonade; baileys and coffee instead of baileys coffee; apple juice instead of pineapple juice) but it really wasn’t a big problem for us. As it’s all inclusive you can choose to change it which they do gladly and tend to look almost hurt they got it wrong, leave it or drink it then order again!
The consistency of service in staff is probably the biggest thing that most would pick up on. You do not always get drinks that you order and food can be rather slow coming when in the restaurants. But it never spoiled our time and you are on holiday so really we didn’t find it a big issue. It’s nice to be served and not in charge so once you relax into a slower pace of life, it’s fine.
We welcomed seeing familiar faces amongst the staff team as feel this meant staff are happy and settled.

Tip
* A smile goes a long way! I will always find it offensive when individuals chose to be rude over polite to staff and it gets you nowhere really. Being in a different country should not mean being different with manners in my humble opinion so why not recognise you are on holiday and relax I say

Food & drink
I think you would be hard pressed to not be able to find something you liked to eat or drink here due to the large choice. If you are very particular about your food choices or extremely selective than you may find complaint but I would politely question why choose all inclusive if that is the case?

The booking system for the restaurants is a bit of a bind until you get used to it but we have stayed in places where you have to go to reception or get tickets for booking which is certainly worse! We tended to get into the routine of ringing whilst getting ready in a morning. There was one occasion when we could not get in anywhere early in the day and I think this was a problem with the phone system. It was no issue though as I contacted guest relations – they asked for 3 choices and when I rang back later in the day we had our first choice booked! If you don’t get in, worry not as the range and quality of food in the main buffet is of such a high standard I am sure you will enjoy it anyway!
This year there is a new tiki hut on the beach serving Carte D’or ice creams, fresh fruit and fruits smoothies.

Tip
*Find out in advance which restaurant closes on which night so you are sure not to miss any. This year I booked or favs first then went from there but we had no problem getting in
* If you want lemonade as a mixer, ask for sprite (i.e. vodka & sprite) as lemonade refers to Traditional/cloudy lemonade and not all staff would use sprite
* When asking for coffee with milk, ask for coffee white
*Check out the noodle house (it’s a pasta place really!) for somewhere different to eat during the day. It is not mentioned on all holiday sites but is near the sky bar

Beach & pools
We don’t have children so welcomed the facility of adults only beach and deck without having to pay for an adult’s only break. I think it also would make it easier for parents/carers knowing that they do not have to constantly try to keep their children in check as it’s an area made for them. We did sit a few times on the family beach too and if you chose well, it is quiet at times. The aqua park and lunar park must be amazing for bairns to enjoy! This year there is a new area on the family beach where children can play and are fenced in. It is also covered at night which should help with avoiding cat “presents” therefore making it a safe zone.
The Hawaii pool tended to be more family orientated as closer to the aqua park and the pool below the panorama bar more adult. The additional pool is for private customers.

Tip
• The pool below the panorama bar can make you feel a bit overlooked so suggest sitting closest to the walkway facing in towards the panorama bar so you feel more like you are watching others rather than being watched!
• If you leave towels on your loungers to head for food, weight them down as the breeze can get up quite rapidly

Entertainment
There is plenty of choice during the day for adults and children with no need to book for many. We joined in with the archery and shooting which was fun.
The evening entertainment is in the form of shows in the amphitheatre which are mainly bought in professionals but there is normally one night a week when the animation team lead. These are not as good due to the professional shows been great but guess it depends on your preference. The people who took kiddies seemed to enjoy it more as they appeared to enjoy recognising people from the kids club & activities.
The absolute must see is the party nights! Last year it was on a Tuesday and this year Wednesday. I won’t spoil the surprise but it is certainly worth the wait as they get organised in the mad half hour before it begins (despite setting it up all day….kind of amusing to watch the pre-party bedlam though). It is a sensational medley of music, dance, lights and showmanship….or mainly show-woman-ship! Certain people’s zoom lenses were certainly out that night!! Never had such a spectacular event included in the price of stay. Despite being unwell and drinking water during the last party night I certainly still enjoyed it which shows how good it is.
If music is not for you, don’t worry as the main courtyard near reception remains quiet on an evening. There’s also a library with board games etc up near the panorama bar.

Tip
• Take something warm with you when out on an evening as gets cool as the sun goes down. This year it was even cooler & I wore jeans and a longer sleeved top quite often
• For the party night, order more than one of each drink if you are a fast drinker as this was when we experienced the least accuracy with receiving drinks!
• If there is a particular show you want to see at the amphitheatre I’d suggest eating early at the restaurant or using the buffet that night as the service can be slow
• Use two cushions at the amphitheatre to save on bum numbness 

To summarise
• Great value for money
• Suitable for couples young or old as well as families
• Loads of choice for food and drink
• A place that recognise the value of customer service, satisfaction and a need to develop each year to keep interest
• Not sure how you could be disappointed when considering the amount included at such a high quality for the cost
• We will certainly be back!

Room for improvement?
I believe that everything and everyone has the opportunity to move forward else you are just standing still so would always be able to identify things to work on but we have very little to say that is negative about this place! The things below are minor and, if I’m honest, more what we personally would welcome upon our return. Some of the ideas are those experienced in other 5 * hotels

• Maybe consider introducing two sittings (i.e. 7 & 8.30pm) for the A la-Carte restaurants so that you can fit more people in each day. We have experienced this at another hotel and it appeared to work well. Also allows those without children to chose the later sitting if want it quieter
• It would be nice if staff did remind families which beach is intended as child free as on occasions it did shatter the peace when they set up camp in front of us! That way everyone can enjoy their choice of beach
• We would welcome more consistency in staff service – most get it very right but not all and those stand out. If you were unfortunate to only receive the worst service, guests may not experience the wonder that we have. We do appreciate it’s challenging, especially with such a large hotel and some change over of staff seasonally presumably but being able to remember to bring your drink; let you know how the menu works and serving your meal at the same pace that the high level boss and his guests were served (suggesting they recognise the right pace to serve) should be a standard by all 
• Staff serving in restaurants could explain the menus a little better or consistently. As some places you have cold starters brought and others you choose from the menu, not everyone will know and not all staff explain
• As it is such a large complex with so many staff and guests, hand sanitizer gels in public areas would be welcomed
• Self serve coffee machines would be great or at least takeaway cups at every bar
• A welcome drink when checking in would be, well, welcomed!

The biggest issue we have created for ourselves is that now everywhere will be compared to Voyage Torba and we have no clue where to go in October for somewhere different that reaches the standard! Shame Voyage is not worldwide.

Until next time…keep moving forward Voyage Torba 

Room Tip: If with children may prefer nearer the Hawaii pool. If couples, nearer reception. Both balcony and p...

Beautiful location with a private beach and lovely views. Restaurant was excellent, so much choice of food and friendly and fast service from waiters here and all the bars. There is a choice of restaurants included in the price which you can try once (except The Steakhouse and Japanese which have a small supplement). We tried the Italian and Chinese which were both very good, perhaps the Italian was marginally better. We thought the local wine was just as good as the Chardonnay that we bought for 75 TL (about £23). if you have trouble booking a restaurant try Guest Relations who are very helpful.
No problems with sun beds, parasols or towels, all are plentiful. All five swimming pools allow inflatables and it would have been nice to have them banned in the main pool to facilitate swimming. All outside areas were clean and well tended.
The quibbles are that the rooms are small with limited hanging space and the cleaning was very haphazard; we found articles of clothing left by previous occupants. There is a safe in the room and a fridge which was continuously restocked. Balconies and stairwells never seemed to be cleaned.
Apparently the planning authorities limit the size of buildings so although the facilities are spacious you lose out on room size.
The shopping trip was really good value (£6), guide was informative and friendly and we saw the main sights of Bodrum: Amphitheatre and statue of Ataturk, views of castle, harbour and marina, windmills and the ruins at the Mindos Gate which was the original entrance to Halicarnassus (Bodrum). We stopped at the market and a few shops but you don't have to buy anything. There is a bus outside the complex which takes you into Bodrum, it costs 3 TL (£1). Most places accept euros and pounds but for local shopping it's handy to have some Turkish money.

All in all if you want an inclusive holiday it's excellent value.

The worst part of the holiday was the check in at the airport. It took ages, we've never had such slow service and there are no seats until you get through to departures. it puts us off returning to Bodrum.

Room Tip: Superior rooms have sea views.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks at voyage torba after staying at the voyage belek last year we expected great things because we had a great time there. Hotel is lovely with villa type rooms so there is no big hotel building, being with family the feel was very intimate with lots to do and everything is spotless. Check in was quick and easy and we shown to our room. First impression of the room was a little disappointing as they are very small but decorated lovely and once all your clothes an cases are away the rooms are fine as we did not to spend much time in them it was just to get dressed an sleep.
All the Staff are amazing. They make the holiday! They cannot do enough for you and are excellent with the children. We travelled with our son who is 20 months old and usually very shy but the staff at voyage torba had him dancing and singing on the bar.

The beach is lovely an compared to belek was better and has a park for the children with a member of staff working there every day between 10.00-18.00. Knowing you had an extra pair of eyes on your baby at all times is very reassurring. The park has a roof to keep the children shaded during peak hours

I have been to many 5* hotels but the main restaurant here was the best i have been to. There was lots of choice every night and they even have a chinese chef and an indian chef cooking there special dishes every night. Deepak the indian chef was fantastic, amazing food, very friendly and very passionate about his cooking. We always sat in the section by the door run by Coskun and Huseyin. These 2 are a great team, they work extremely hard to make sure everyone is happy. We named Coskun speedy because he did not keep still making sure everyone had everything they need

The a la cart restaurants are very nice, we visited the fish, chinese, italian and steak. All lovely food an great service. You have to pay extra for the steak, i am not sure it was worth the extra money but it was very tasty food

The drinks are all top name brands and very good quality

Seref who works italian snack bar in the day and chinese restaurant at night is another 1 who needs to be mentioned. he was excellent, always really happy, friendly and helpful.

lots for the children to do, mini club, mini disco, 2 pools with water slides, childrens dinner at the mini club, beach park and fun fair. There was a games room but it was a bit disapointing as not very big an not much to do. We had an evening of rain and the games room in belek would of been perfect - hopefully they will update this before our next visit :)

Thank you to all the staff at:- The tropic bar, The italian restaurant, the childrens pool snack bar, the childrens entertainers and central bar staff. You are all excellent. Too many to name individually but i think the management should be very proud of there team
The Only bar we did not visit much was the sky bar as they were very slow with drinks

We watched 4 shows which were all outside acts and all very good to watch but not a fan of the seats in the ampthitheater, very uncomfortable but every hotel we have stayed in turkey has the same

All in all a great holiday and we would love to return next year

Room Tip: contact rep or hotel to make sure cot is in your room ready for when you arrive if you have requeste...

Third stay at Voyage Torba,
To make it short, Superb.
Great food with extensive choice, quality, variety, freshness, presentation.
A la carte restaurants : all great, except Greek (food average and soooo noisy !)
Room (Deluxe room) and swimming pool(s) perfectly maintained; as well as gardens.
Service : perfect at every bar and every restaurant. Helpful, smiling, customer oriented.
Children friendly
Our only negative point was the arrival - at 10:00PM with 2 children and the extra beds for the children were not prepared and we had to wait until almost midnight for it to be fixed.

We will definitely go again !

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are more expensive but ... priceless fo rthe what you get
