“blue dreams experence”
Reviewed 2 July 2008

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the blue dreams complex near bodrum, turkey. The hotel is rated as 5 star but honestly we would give it 3 or 4 because of a number of factors. The only lift is from the decking area near the sea to the pool level. The rooms are built into the hillside and are reached via bush lined avenues and steps. This is not good for the less mobile guest although you are warned of this in Thomson's website. The rooms are very clean with maids every day. Some rooms are double with a very small shower cubicle with not enough room to swing a cat! There are more than enough places to eat and the standard of meals is very good with plenty of choice. All the staff at blue dreams work very hard to make your stay enjoyable with something going on all day.At the "beach" there are watersports available at extra cost to the all-inclusive holiday price. After midnight you start to pay for drinks. My daughter had to have medical treatment after a reaction to "mosey bites"and the standard of care was second to none. The medical centre is on site staffed by a doctor so she was treated straight away.Would we go again?Yes.Will i recomend it to friends and family?Yes.

Club Blue Dreams hotel is one with fantastic views but loads of steps to go with it, however the lift down to the beach was great!

The hotel was clean and tidy but was not a 5*, the rooms warranted a 3* and the beach area a 4*. Some rooms do not have a balcony so it is really luck of the draw. The hotel in all allowed for a fantastic relaxing holiday.

The food was good with a fantastic salad bar and hot buffet variety. There were also three other restaurants to chose from and one visit per week was allowed for in the allinclusive package. Most lunch times we spent in the snack bar on the beach where the waiters were very polite and helpfull giving an allround fantastic service (thank you Abrahim).

The entertainment team tried very hard but the evening shows left much to be dersired: you could not fault the fact that they were trying but it lacked a professional management direction, it was so bad that we attempted to watch it, allowing ourselves 10 mins and could not take any more, it was really embarassing and cringe worthy. They has one professional show (Turksh night, every Tuesday belly dancing) which was good fun but the rest were left to the entertainment team, in all honesty they needed to gain more professinal acts for the evening in order to make it more enjoyable: however can not fault their effort!

There is a downside to this hotel which would cause us not to return: the watersports were very expensive with a fee of 35 Euro per 10 mins per person for a jet ski!!, if you have a late check out is it 100 YTL (£50) to keep your room to 6pm and 200 YTL (£100) to keep your room untill midnight! Then to top that off the late checkouts do not have wash facilites so you have to use the fitness spa and ask the manager to use the wash facilites as this is not owned by the hotel!!! Lukily we have used the fitness centre in the week so this was not a problem for us. The shops within teh hotel complex are also very expensive: Water is 8 YTL (£4) per 1 litre bottle in the hotel, so go to the supermarket in Bodrum and pay 2 YTL (£1) for 4 litres!

All in all, the holiday was good for a relaxing time but if you were intending to stay for longer then one week then it was not advisable to stay here unless you are prepared to spend alot of money on trips and excursions.

Fantastic environment - lovely views. Food out of this world especially cream cakes! :-) Staff very friendly. Only downside to this hotel is room standard and that there is no lift or ramp access to rooms & also the steep road from and to the entrance. Providing guests with a 1.5ltr bottle of water on arrival and then no more - having an empty minibar in the room is a waste considering that drinks are readily available around the complex;signs clearly displayed to not take food or drink back to rooms. Rooms on lower levels appear to be better furbished than those on higher levels - money needs to be spent on upgrading doors and windows at least and electrics. What I loved about this hotel was that it had its own Pide house where you could have turkish pizza or normal pizza each afternoon along with other snacks - meal times were reasonable and there was always food available - the patiserrie was open all afternoon and not like most hotels that offer beverages and stale cakes for an hour or so - this hotel definately has excellent food facilities and the alcoholic drinks are not too bad either. Lots of shady places to sit and plenty of sunbeds if you prefer to laze in the sun all day long. Animation team is good - water sports good. After visiting lots of hotels in Turkey for the past 11 years I have experienced good and bad hotels even after checking out feedback sites I have still been disappointed with so called 5-star hotels. I would rate this hotel as a 4 star at most but dont let that put you off - I chose this hotel for a special celebration and it didnt let me down - the views were stunning & the holiday the best I have enjoyed...... so much so that I hope to go back in September with my adult kids and their partners.

  • Liked — the stunning views & location - great food
  • Disliked — room standard & too many steps to higher levels!

I will make it short because im too frustrated to think about this place, but i must warn everyone from this turkish toilet called blue dreams...

The only dream i had in this place was to eat normal food, now dont get me wrong.. im from the middle east, so im more then cool with turkish food... but what these guys served... oh god, i had better food in the israeli army, heck i would guess that war prisoners eat better!!!
Have you ever tried boiling ketchup with sauseges? mmmm sounds like a real dream eh?
What about asking for two days the reception to fix our small water problem? yeah you got it right... no hot water :(
and guess what? they didnt fix it! said something smart like "we have 300 rooms in this hotel, how come you are the only ones who complain?"... unbelivble!!
MMMM what else? many flying creatures and bugs who will keep you company at night.. i bet they enjoy the 5 star food :)

Alcohol was terrible, was mixed with water to save the hotel budget, all imported alcohol was sooooooooo expensive it was imposible to buy (15$ for a cocktail).

The only thing that was good in this place was the view, but how the hell can you enjoy that when you are starving?!!?

NEVER EVER EVER EEEEEEVER get near this dump if you know whats good for you.

We stayed dring the October Half Term. This place was running on the bare minimun, small selection of chicken, rice, pasta and salad repeated daily.
Everything was either shut down or broken, no kids pool, no soft drinks, no snacks, no hot water, the list goes on and on.
We have stayed in better two star hotels.
