“Pretty much perfect”

Just back from a brilliant week at the Rixos and had a thoroughy relaxing and enjoyable time. After reading various reviews I was a little apprehensive about restaraunt bookings but it was very straight forward, explained clearly and no problems in getting through. Admittedly we got the impression that the hotel wasnt at full capacity, being late in the season its to be expected (and hoped for!), it certainly meant that there were no over crowding issues or such like. The house wine was nice, both white and red and the local beer (Efes) is good. Most spirits are incluced in the AI deal which was a surprise, plus so is the champagne. The beach was very nice, plenty of cover for shade and with a little manoervement you could also follow the sun all day long if you wanted. We generally got to the beach about 10am and had a pretty decent choice of where to spend our days, the best ones were taken but at 10am thats to be expected. The food was exceptional, the a'la carte restaurants especially so. I think I had about 15 dishes in a row which couldnt have been bettered. The choice in the mexican, italian, french and fish wasnt exactly overwhelming but didnt pose any problems. The Turkish and BBQ were fixed menu's but when you're presented with about 7 mini starters its absolutely fine! The main restaruant was good enough. Lots of side dishes and dips, salads, sauces etc but maybe a little lacking in actual main dishes. Breakfast was pretty similar as was lunch. We generally tended to eat in the pool bar for lunch. The Spa was fantastic, had a turkish bath and massage on first day and it was most enjoyable, 40 mins for each and although maybe a little pricey it was very much worth it. The overall service could not be faulted in any way. Every waiter, bar man/lady, maintenance staff, maid etc was very friendly, polite and helpful. Always had a smile and didnt have one single incident to have even a minor complaint about. The beach bar was good in handing out water, juice and coffee, plus they were very generous in filling up 300ml beakers of wine!

Had a truly wonderful time and would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone.

A beautiful hotel set in a picturesque bay overlooking the Aegean sea.

Could not fault this hotel. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, the view from our terrace was amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful, they could not do enough for you. The a la carte restaurants were fantastic, again great service with supurb food. I highly recommend a visit to the French restaurant. The pool 'snack' bar also serves a la carte food during the day and was something of a surprise. The quality of the food on offer was far beyond anything you would ever expect from a snack bar.

Will visit again in the future. This is a perfect hotel whether you are looking for a romantic break or a family trip!

My new wife and i have just stayed at the Rixos for 2 weeks along with 24 friends and family.
The 2nd week that we were there, we were married in the Rixos Hotel. The wedding was fantastic and the hotel management and staff exceeded our expectations ten fold !! They decorated one of their buggy cars and drove us around he complex with the traditional cans tied to the back, which was hilarious, and everyone seemed to get up and clap and cheer us as we passed them by the pool, or beach or on their balconies or wherever they were. They then drove us to the " Barbeque Restaurant" which was reserved for us, where our wedding took place on one level, then the reception meals were on the level below, sitting over the sea. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for us. The reception was beautiful with 2 violins playing, course after course of great food with our own personal menu's, lovely wedding cake, then a fantastic firework display for us, before taking us all in buggies to their Island nightclub, where they gave us VIP seats and projected our pictures onto the big screen for all to see. The waiters were fantastic, helpfull and very amusing, joining in the fun with us and supplying champagne courtesy of the hotel !!
We stayed for 2 weeks and every member of our wedding party thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the Rixos. Food was great, service was great, staff were great, and there was so much to do there. Every one of us have said that we would not hesitate to go back. I read a couple of negative reviews about the Rixos, and i really cannot beleive how these people didn't enjoy the hotel. It was absolutely fantastic in every way. We found the hotel on the internet, booked it and then it was recomended by some friends who have been for 2 years running and are booking next year as well.
Take a look yourself and book a holiday there and you will not be disappointed.
Yes, it can be hard to book an a'lacart restaurant there, but after a few days, you get to know how and when to book them. We managed to book all of them while there.
Rating out of 10, an easy 10 !!

My husband and I went to the Rixos for one week and stayed in a sea view room. The room was large with usual amenities, bathrobes and slippers and a large balcony with great views across the bay.
Food was excellent - buffet had a good variety of food with different theme nights and show cooking every evening. When the weather was good it was easy to get seated but on the one night we had rain it was a bit chaotic. This was due to most of the a' la carte restaurants closing as they are open air and also the outside part of the buffet restaurant. Staff did their best to get everyone seated though.
We ate at the French, Mexican and Barbeque a' la carte restaurants. The french was superb, mexican great and the barbeque was disappointing as the meat was very dry.
There is also an italian restaurant which we heard was good, a Turkish restaurant which we heard was just OK and the Teppanyaki restaurant which had a cover charge of 100euros per couple.
Bottled wines were extremely expensive, so we stuck to the house wine by the glass which was ok. Bottled champagne expensive with moet at 250euros!
There are two main bars and a couple of others including a juice bar dotted around the grounds. You can also get coffee and tea at all the bars. Drinks were ok if you stuck to beer, wine or spirits but cocktails were very strange.. I had a pina colada that didn't have any pineapple juice in it, thought it might be a mistake so had another during the week and still no pineapple!
Every evening there would be some form of entertainment either on the private island or in the ampitheatre and also always something going on for children.
There is a hotel operated shuttle from the hotel to Bodrum at 3euros per person each way (takes about 10 minutes). We got the shuttle to Bodrum (to save walking up a huge flight of steps to the hotel entrance) and then a dolmus back at 2.2euros per person. Look for the dolmus in the bus station with the hotel names on the front as this one will drop you outside the hotel entrance.
Be careful in booking this hotel if you have walking difficulties as it is extremely hilly. Our room was in the 4000's which is right at the top and although we are fit and able bodied, in the heat it was sometimes a struggle to climb all the slopes and stairs.
Pools were lovely with a choice of three including an indoor pool by the well equipped spa.
The beach was ok but very crowded and if you arrived at the beach after 10am you would be lucky to get a sunbed. There was also the usual culprits putting there towels on the sunbeds at god knows what hour and then you wouldnt see them all day! Lots of activities if you want to join in around the pool.
All in all the hotel offers a good standard of accommodation and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I was in Rixos Bodrum betwwen 15th and 18th of August. The first day was quite OK, except the hotel changing my room without informing me and when asked about the reason, the answer was "somebody else wanted the room" and when I start complainig, the man from the reception said " we do not have to satisfy everyone". And this was the best day of my stay.
The second they, there was a "red rope" seperating 1/3 of the hotel including sundecks and one of the beaches and we "the customers" were not allowed to go into that part, because the part was reserved for the owners "special guests"
And again the explanation of the managment was "you can't go beyond that rope because we closed that part". And we learnt that, this happens quite very often.
The location was good, the food was good but we paid a lot and got only 2/3 what we've paid for, what have been advertised... without even a apology.

As a travel agent for 17 years, I have stayed at many hotels, and my husband and I found this one to be extremely good. The food is of a very good standard, the main dining room has a great choice of food and the desserts are delicious. As soon as our glasses were empty, the waiters were filling them up. We found the majority of the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. The locations of the barbeque, fish and turkish restaurants give you a great view of the sea. Yes, I do agree difficulty getting the reservations but we managed to try them all out, just keep re-dialing.

The rooms was comfortable with a huge balcony. The bar with the terrace overlooking the sea was a great place to have a cocktail and watch the weekly firework display. A couple of times we used the cinema, they had 2 showings a day with up to date films.

During the day the staff come to the beach with coffee, soft drinks, fruit and offer to clean your sunglasses

I am surprised to see negative reviews on this hotel, as overall we both loved it, in my opinion people expect so much these days and not everything may be perfect, but we had a great time, and had nothing to complain about at all. A very relaxed holiday in a beautiful location..

We went to this hotel for 1 week at the end of June and had an excellent time! The hotel is just beautiful and the rooms very spacious and clean with a free minibar that's stocked daily. There is the buffet restaurant which has theme nights e.g. mexican night, italian night, turkish night etc.. but there's also 5 others included in your all inclusive package. Our favourites were the turkish and BBQ with beautiful views out to sea. Funny system to book these though, you must phone the night before and you will be given a time. The pool bar is nice for lunch if you don't want a big buffet, they do pizzas and burgers etc.. There is a huge selection of drinks included in the all inclusive package too, although only 1 lager (efes). The evening entertainment was ok! a bit of a laugh and the entertainments team really do try and ensure you enjoy yourself. If you don't fancy that, there are lots of places to sit and watch the sunset or a couple of quieter places to get a drink if you prefer. The grounds are just lovely and a so so clean. I will definately be going back to this hotel again.
