Got home lastnight after our third time here, two weeks still wasn't long enough :( It gets better and better each year. The entertainment was fantastic with different shows, bands and parties everynight. The food was excellent with so much to choose from everyday. Anyone who says the foods poor is pathetic as there was loads to choose from. The weather was in its late 30's and sometimes got to 40 degrees, the hottest its ever been whilst we have stayed there. We were upgraded to another room on arrival which was great, free wifi in the room, around the pool and on the beach. Room was very clean and mini bar stocked daily. We had a sea view from the balcony and also views of Kos. The waiters were always working hard around the pool making sure you had enough to drink and eat, restaurant staff were very friendly too. The only negative thing was the transfers. The past two years we always got private transfers but this year as we booked through another agency we were given coach transfers. First of all we were on a coach for an hour and than had to go on a minibus which took another hour as Xanadu was the furthest away. Not the hotels fault at all. Also the Thomas Cook rep was never at the hotel so we had to find information about transfers etc ourselves. I also had to go to hospital whilst staying there and the hotel were great they took us there and back twice free of charge which we can't thank them enough for :) I don't know why people are saying the entertainment team can't speak English because I was having conversations with them everyday, i'm sure they can speak better English than you can speak Russian :) Can't fault this hotel at all we will definitely be back next year for the 4th time! Thankyou Xanadu :)

Room Tip: Sunset suites with sea views are definitely the best, also on arrival ask for an upgrade!

Xanadu Island hotel is very nice. The positives include nice swimming pools and beach, even the basic rooms are lovely, there is an ok gym, numerous lovely bars, the food in the main restaurant is good and the staff are all very nice (although their english can be limited).

The ala carte restaurants were a disappointment but the big negative is the hotels location in relation to Bodrum. Our transfer to the hotel was I hour 15 but the return transfer including pick ups at other hotels was two and a half hours. Getting into Bodrum is a 130 Turkish lira taxi trip each way (45min drive).

We had a great holiday but the big disappointment was the Ephesus trip we booked through the Thomas Cook rep (£55 per person). We were told Ephesus was 2 and a half hours away but because the tour guide took the bus to a series of tourist traps it took five and half hours to get to the destination we had paid to visit. We arrived in Ephesus too late to see the large Roman villa exhibition (which closes at 5:30) and once there we were rushed around the site in just under two hours. Ephesus is a big site and needs at least 2-3 hours to visit properly. We arrived back at the hotel at 1am after a 13 hour round trip...we even had to visit more tourist traps on the way home.

The standard of the hotel makes for a very relaxing break in the sun but once at the hotel your easy access to things off site are extremely limited.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great - can't go wrong.

This hotel has absolutely NOT high class .
They brand themselves as a 'high class' hotel, this is what you pay for, and this is what we expected but what you receive is max 4* .

They serve poor and cheap food and drinks. Lunch and dinner was very poor each day. ( cannot compare other hotels like Rixos , Kefaluka , Mardan , Ela quality ) All buffet was extremely repetitive.
Restaurant staff mostly student and they are 15- 16 years old.
Childeren pool is dirty and old as you can see in the pictures.

Hardly any of the staff spoke English and animation team was from Ukraine ( they only speak Russian )
Animation start around 21 o'clock and done around 23 . And than you have to sleep :)) or dance in the hotel's disco with max 5 people.

Wireless coverage was very pool , non existent in room.

For the room do not pay extra for sunset if you dont get from 3th floor. Other rooms has no sunset view. I don't know why they called our room as a sunset. ( room 4404 )

The beach is pebbly and hard to get into the sea.

one positive review ; Hotel looks very nice if you take a photos.

We left 1 day earlier.

Definitely not 5 star hotel...

Room Tip: Do not pay extra for SUNSET suit . Except 3th floor there is no chance to see sun set .

Really nice place - natural peninsula, where is only this hotel resort. You will have different nice views from all sides of peninsula. You will not need the bracelets for all inclusive :-). The services are very good, staff very friendly and food tasty and also good choice. They have the kids buffet as well, also with baby food glasses, which is very nice. During the day you can enjoy Carte D´Or eiscream, you can order pasta, pizza, hamburgers etc. also between lunch and dinner. We liked also the time for breakfast from 7 a.m. till 11 a.m.,lunch 12.30 - 3 p.m., dinner 7-10 p.m..During children discoteque they are serving poc corn and big kids lolipops.Eveneing animation program is also very good as well the live music groups every second day. We were really fascinated by Hakan Girit Group, it was amazing !!! We agreed also late check-out due to our smaller daugter - sleeping after lunch and we got it for free of charge. Overall we were very satisfied and even if we are usually going to another places, we would like to come back to this place.

I stayed here with my husband for 5 nights in the 2nd half of June. We booked from Italy a sunset suite even if we wanted a romance suite which seemed to be unavailable when we looked for. At the arrival we had the wonderful surprise to be upgraded to the romance suite! My travel agency informed the hotel that we had our 7th wedding anniversary on our last day and the hotel PR made us find a delicious small chocolate cake, a bottle of champagne and 7 red roses! The service was excellent in each aspect of the hotel. All inclusive formula is fantastic because you can drink and eat whenever you want during day and evening and you can be served in different bars and spaces around the hotel (near the pool, on the beach , on the terrace..). Live music almost every evening. Food very good in terms of quality and choice. The private beach is wonderful and you always find free beds. The sea water is amazingly beautiful and clear. Sea sports available. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to everyone going to Bodrum !! We had a wonderful stay here and we could relax as we wanted ! Thank you to all staff. Nadia and Federico from Milan.

We stayed here for 1 week from 21/6/14 and it was not enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
It was a quiet week and not to busy but very hot.
As a 5 star in Turkey this is the best I have stayed in in the 9 holidays in 7 years we have had.
The hotel I think is set for middle aged couples or young couples with small children. There is not a lot for older children but it suited us.

Room Tip: It is a quiet hotel wonderful for relaxing

We have just returned from two weeks at Xanadu Island.

Our experience of the coach journey to Xanadu is similar to others although perhaps not as bad as some. It was dark when we got on the coach so we actually were a little disappointed we couldn't see the scenery. Although we got this opportunity on the return trip to the airport and saw more than perhaps we would have if the driver hadn't lost his way slightly! This has nothing to do with Xanadu but at least you will be aware that this can happen.

Now to Xanadu -
We were quickly checked in by the reception staff who offered an upgrade to an elegance suite. The suite had two bedrooms. One with a double bed and the other with two single beds. Each bedroom had its own spacious bathroom with walk-in showers.
There was also a living area which led out to a patio balcony. The double bedroom had a Juliet balcony. There was a TV in the living area and also in each bedroom.
We had a sea view from the bathroom, bedroom and living area and I have to say that it is one of the best views we have ever been able to enjoy. It was just beautiful.
Thank you Xanadu for the upgrade.

Our bed was very comfortable and all rooms were air conditioned.

Plenty of coat hangers, drawers and shelves provided in the rooms. The only thing I missed was a mirror in the bedroom. I had to stretch the cord for my hair straighteners from the bedroom so that I could see through the mirror in the bathroom.
There is a turn down service if you would like to use it and also a pillow menu if you want to try different ones.

There is a soccer/basket ball pitch and a tennis court should you feel energetic as well as an indoor pool, jacuzzi, well equipped gym and spa.
If you feel like a leisurely stroll there are paths that meander all around the island and through the beautiful gardens. At all times you have a sea view.
There are a couple of little piers in secluded coves where you can sunbathe or you can choose the main infinity pool area. Each has it's own fridge containing beers and soft drinks.
There is a separate children's pool away from the main infinity pool which also has a bigger pool adjacent to it for adults. This is referred to as the quiet pool but not sure that putting it right next to the children's pool really means it is quiet! It is useful for parents to use whilst they keep an eye on their children. This is also sited at Archipeligos bar so you can get food and drink all day.

You can eat inside or outside of the main restaurant which is close to the infinity pool area.
I agree with another reviewer that it would have been nice if there was someone to show you to a table instead of you having to find one yourself. The food is buffet style and we always enjoyed the BBQ food in the evenings. We tried the Italian a la carte restaurant one night but to be honest I preferred the main restaurant.
The red, white and rose wines are all very enjoyable. I would have preferred the ice bucket and full bottle to be left at our table. This only happened a couple of times otherwise the waiters fill your glass and then if you want more you had to keep asking them to fill your glass.
I did feel that the service was inconsistent but maybe as the season progresses this will get sorted. Some waiters speak better english than others but eventually we always got the right drink/food.
Also not everybody dressed up for dinner. I preferred to do this but you don't have to if you prefer to wear something more relaxing/casual.
There is a separate buffet area for children which I thought was a nice touch.

If you prefer at lunchtime to have pizza or hamburgers then you can get these at the xanadu bar next to the main infinity pool and at Archipeligo Bar next to the children's pool.
The xanadu bar also serves waffles/crepes at 4pm everyday.

There is also a 24 hour bar called the Rosebud Bar. We enjoyed a glass of champagne on the terrace here every morning after breakfast. Spectacular views in the morning across the bay.

There is also a beach bar on the beach. It's a shingle beach so you might want to bring some swim shoes with you if you like to be on the beach and to swim in the sea. It's a private beach area belonging to the hotel. There are water sports available if you like that kind of thing.

You can also sunbathe on the grass terrace which becomes the outside cinema in the evening.
You can see which film is being shown each day outside the sports bar.
Inside the sports bar is the bowling alley and games room. We also watched some World Cup football games in there.

The entertainment team work very hard and encourage you to join in but without being pushy.
They work during the day with the games and aqua aerobics as well as putting on shows in the amphitheatre every other night. The other acts which perform during the week on the alternate nights are all very good and we enjoyed dancing to most of them.
We had a beach and foam party one night which was great fun.
The weather was extremely hot whilst we were there and our first week was quieter than the second when more children/younger people arrived.

We found all staff to be polite and extremely helpful. Although sometimes you do need to give them a little more direction.
There are a couple of photographers and if you want some beautiful pictures taking to remember your holiday then these guys can do that but they don't bother you unless you want your picture taking.

Would I go back to Xanadu Island? If I want a relaxing peaceful restful holiday then I would return in a heartbeat. I didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: Email the hotel in advance if you have any special requests. We were travelling with my elderly moth...
