“Good time had by all”

We stayed for a week, 19 - 26 September. Kadikale say they are a 5 star resort, but they are not this. I would say some things are 3 star and some 4. As you drive up there are lovely gardens and our room was near the lobby, so did not have problems with steps. These are good rooms as good location
On the whole we had a great time. The staff are entertaining and friendly, but they serve who they want to serve.
The room is very basic which I would say is 3 star. Drinks are basic and they want tipping for cocktails, this I would say is 3 star.
We ate at the alcarte restaurants - these are nothing special, but the fish looked better. The Italian is basic and the menu could do with revamping.
Sun beds and view amazing. We spent our time by the infinity pool as this was a quiet area near the beach and snack bar. The beach bar was relaxing and the snack bar made lovely flat bread and chicken donner meat. We would wait until 2.00pm to have dinner as the snack bar was so good. You can also getter burger, chips, salad and pasta bolognese here.
The main buffet restaurant has a good variety of food and can not understand why people can not find something to eat. They could have chips everyday! It could do with opening at 6.30pm instead of 7.30pm as this would space out everybody going at once and would allow people with families to go earlier and adults to go later without lots of children.
I did feel that this resort is more geared towards adults as I don't feel there is enough for children to do. The entertainment team seem friendly and enjoy what they do, although we did not really join in.
We took the Thomas Boat, which was good fun, so recommend this and is a reasonable price.
We were a group of 6 adults, 25 + and felt it was suited to all of us.
Recommend the shuttle in to Bodrum as a good price and quick, we organised this at the hotel.
We loved the 24 hr lobby bar. It always had something going on/some drama and the shops in the lobby area are good value and you can negotiate.
We did use the spa, and had the two hour treatment special for £40. This is very good value for money and the other treatments in the spa are a good price as well. It is very relaxing in the spa and we highly recommend.
We would return

Just had a week's cheap all inclusive break at the Kadikale and it was much better than I had expected. The rooms were light, spacious, modern and clean. The views from all areas of the hotel were wonderful right across the bay to Kos. The all inclusive concept here means 24 hour bar and even some of the watersports are included. The food can get slightly repetitious but there was plenty of it and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, always up for a laugh and worked really hard, also the animation team were good bringing guests together without being too pushy, I would recommend this hotel to anyone other than people with mobility problems as there are a lot of steps ... can not understand some people's grumblings!

After a 4 hour delay from Gatwick and a transfer coach breakdown we arrived at the hotel some six and a half hours late. We were quickly shown to our ground floor room ,which on first impression, appeared alright. However ,on closer inspection we found that the tiny balcony, rather than having a garden view, looked directly onto an extensive stone wall some 20 foot high ! We asked Juliet, our Thomson representative, who was most attentive throughout our stay,to request a room change, After 2 days we were relocated to an upper floor room overlooking the gardens and the reception area, The room was much smaller but fine. The only issue with this room was the noise from the continual stream of transfer coaches both day and night. Owing to the time of year ,with cooler evenings, the noise was not too much of an problem as we had the patio door and windows closed. The setting of the hotel is stunning with great views over towards many islands. There are sundecks and many areas around the pools for relaxing in the Turkish sunshine. Finding sunbeds was not a major issue unless you wanted to be by the main pool. There appears little control on dress code in the restaurant, somewhat disappointing in a 5 star ? hotel. The food was good and varied throughout our stay. On initial arrival , the waiters were most attentive, but lost some enthusiasm unless given tips. The atmosphere in the restaurant at times resembled a staff canteen, very busy, very noisy. The service in the bars was generally poor . On most occasions the customer appeared to be an interruption to the staff chatting amongst themselves and to the obvious tipping customers. I like to tip, but only at the end of a holiday and to reward good service. Hygiene in the bar is questionable, after handling phones, dirty glasses etc. the staff would pick up lemons ,by hand, for the gin and tonics ! The major issue is CATS ( hence "Catikale" - a name given to the hotel by one of our dear friends ). Cats are everywhere throughout the hotel. In the dining room, on chairs and tables, guests feeding them, little or no management control...Hygiene ??. By the pool and sundecks, cats sleeping on the loungers, guests feeding them....again, no obvious management control...Hygiene ?? In the lounge/reception area ,cats were seen sitting on sofas ,chairs and sleeping under tables. One was observed " spraying " marking its territory, against a pillar !!! Several guests suffered bites, not " mossies " I would suggest from fleas !! Overall I would love to rate this hotel higher, the location is great , the food and drinks are fine, but the attitude off many staff, the lack of hygiene standards and management controls, plus the CATS,relate to my grading. We, a group of four, will not be returning to CATIKALE Resort.

Room Tip: Upper floor away from reception area...but be aware there are many steps.

So we returned today from an 11 night trip and to be honest cant believe some of the reviews about this hotel. So its not 5 Star, well ok its not The Dorchester but seeing as most guests pay approx £25 - £30 per night for your room (and in the uk you wont even get a premier inn for that price), services, towels supplied, two pools, breakfast, lunch, evening meal, snack bar, cakes at 5pm and soup at 11.30 pm, oh and not forgetting all your drinks including a 24 hour bar. In lots of all inclusive the free bar ends at 12am. Oh and yes a view that beats all the other all inclusive hotels. Yes its busy at 7.30pm when the restaurant opens but your on holiday so sit and have a drink then go in at 8pm and lots of room. We did tip the restaurant staff but not to guarantee a table or to get service but because they work so hard.
Some of the things I have read are about the staff being rude, people must have been to a different hotel than us, yes at times the bar staff seemed stressed but the manner in which some guest spoke to them does not shock me that they were. The young guy who worked over night in the lobby bar (recep) and the young girl at the same bar made the most amazing cocktails.
The food was in our opinion excellent quality and always something to choose from. During our stay there where English, Scottish, Russian, Polish, Dutch, French and Turkish guests and the chefs worked extremely hard to meet all nationalities, although i was not brave enough to try the tripe or carrot and flesh soups, my tip is try the raw beef dish on turkish night.
Our room was up the top of the hill and yes there are lots of steps but there was also a ramp if steps didn't take your fancy or if you had had taken advantage of the all inclusive bars, personally we preferred the steps 67 in total up and down to our rooms and have returned with calfs that a premiership footballer would be proud of, the same cant be said about our bellies!!!
Our room was and a great size, spotless and comfy as hell and bottles of water each day in the fridge.
Now to the entertainment which may not be like going to a west end show but we have yet to meet a more pleasant bunch of people whom we never seen without a smile on their faces and they interacted with ages from tiny babies to Michelle the fantastic french guy who survived the pool incident. The shows of a night made us laugh so much sometimes for the wrong reasons but great fun never the less, and again these guys are trying to meet the needs of all nationalities, if its not your thing no one forces you to go.
Yes the wi-fi is only available in the hotel lobby but come on your on holiday so chill out relax and try not to have your phone, lap top, ipad or what ever you use in your hands and take in the view that is right outside the lobby.
On our last night there was an overnight storm and it had damaged the promenade but as soon as the waves subsided the staff where out there repairing so guests could make use of it again.
The only downside for us is the sales pitch that Thompson hit you with from the flight to the sales rep, sorry holiday rep based in the hotel who also needs to understand the 24 hour clock, should we have taken her advice about the coach transfer back to airport we would have missed it, oh and possibly the rudest Thompson rep on the transfer back, this person really needs a lesson in customer care.
All in all I would recommend this place for a lovely break.

Room Tip: If you have any issues speak to the staff, Use the dolmus Buses to get to see Gumsuluk, Yalikavak...

It was amazing holiday for couples. The view was one that couldn't bore you and was visible at any point of the hotel. The food was good with a variety at every meal sitting outside for breakfast was a particular fav of mine.
The location was good close to town not so close to airport
Brill holiday overall would go back
Only bad point was entertainment but expect it's better in season.

Just arrived back from a weeks holiday at the Kadikale. It was fantastic!!!! When we arrived we were shown to a ground floor apartment and my partner was hoping for a higher floor, bearing in mind we arrived early in the morning we were reluctant to ask if we could change but we did and our room was changed to another one without any bother atall with a lovely view. We couldve changed it again if we wanted to. The majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool bar waiters were not happy bunnies and one in particular would walk away and serve you when he was ready. That was the only negative thing. The hotel was spotless and so were the rooms and the food was very tasty but did get a little bit samey and I did get a little bit fed up with it by the end of the week, but we went in october and knew that the other "a-la-carte" restaurants would be shut. There were always plenty of sun beds available no matter what time of the day you went out so no sneaking out to occupy a bed with a towel early in the morning. All in all we had a fantastic week and the temperature of 80degrees made it even better.

Room Tip: Ask for room 205 the veiw of the garden is lovely.

.THE POSITIVES.....Nice modern resort......Very picturesque setting on the coastline...... THE NEGATIVES.................... FOOD......Day 1-3 Nice.......Day 3-5....Not this again!!!.... Day 5-7.....Need i say anymore!!!..My biggest concern was CATS everywhere whilst you're eating, on the beach, near the pool, even see a young girl get scratched by one whilst eating her dinner....NOT GOOD!!!!!!......THE STAFF......You can sense its the end of season but some staff were helpful and pleasant...............ENTERTAINMENT..............Lovely animation team but some nights were not great and that's putting it nicely....ACTIVITIES...Were all accessible, but the mini-golf is in serious need of repair.. ... SUMMARY.........If you get a real bargain for this place then i would say BOOK IT.......but bear in mind this resort needs a bit of a revamp before it can be considered a real five star hotel.

Room Tip: We originally had a garden view but upgraded to sea room view which makes a massive difference to th...
