Had done a lot of research before booking this hotel, and was disappointed with it. Greated by very friendly staff upon arrival, offered turkish delight while checking in! Reception staff where very helpful, but the problems started when our friends were allocated a room in a different part of the hotel. When we got to our room, it was fairly average sized, with a nice view over the garden....just a shame it was ground floor. Friends room was absolutly tiny, balcony not even big enough to fit a single chair on. Bathroom in our room was disgusting. Tiles fally off of the walls in the shower and under the sink, shower head did not stay up high enough to have a shower, so one of us always had to hold the shower head up for the other one! Not good!
On a plus the entertainment staff are very pleasant, and my boyfriend and friend were always involved in whatever was going on. There is a rather pervy photographer who would not leave me alone and it did start to become a bit unnerving, so parents keep a close eye on your daughters!
The beach in one word....crap. Imnot usually a beach person, but had no choice on this holiday as the traditional german sun bed hoggers were up a 6 am securing the few sunbeds around the pool.
Food, gets a bit repetetive but this is to be expected on a 2 weeks stay. I am a very fussy eater and there was always something I could eat, but most of the time it came from the childrens buffet!
All in all we did have a good holiday, but this was more the company than the hotel, and we will definatly not be returning. If you can afford it, stay at Le Blanche next door.....it looked much nicer!

We did a spring trip to this hotel with the grandparents and rest of the family (sister and husband and 4 kids, 12, 9, 8 and 7 years old). This was the second week the hotel had opened for the season. Some minor adjustments were still being done, but they were absolutely non-intrusive (like painting the outside theatre. The hotel is Ultra All inclusive which means that all food and entertainment are included. Food is great; a combination of western and Turkish dishes. Lots to choose from and very fresh. great salads and mezze and lots of desserts. The waiters are also nice. May we recommend Murat and Sina? The wines are reasonable, the beer a bit tin (3,5 %, which is enough in the sun) and the Raki great. the Turkish produced Spirits are hit and miss: some are good copies of the originals others not so good. In addition to the self service restaurant, there are three a la carte restaurants that have to be reserved. We did dine once in the turkisch restaurant which is a tent in the garden very nice atmosphere.
The hotel has three outdoor and one indoor swimming pools and a small child pool. There are nice water slides; great for the kids. There is ample space to lie down around the pools, on the beach and on two boardwalks that belong to the hotel.
We stayed in a Select Family room with seaview that has a separate child room (with playstation) and some extra luxuries.
The animation team is new (just transferred from another hotel) and they do a good job.

My Family of 2 adult 47 & 46 & 1 child Girl 13, stayed for 2 weeks at the Aegean Dream Resort in May 2008, we found the location was very good, beach was ok, the sunset is beautifull. service was 1st class we could not fault them , entertainment was not the best again you must take this hotel as a package some things are very good others moderate overall a good hotel altough it is a 4 star i would mark it a very good 3 star hotel. the food was good did get a bit repetive but you expect that at any hotel over 2 weeks, plenty of places to hide a way if you need some peace and quite, sunbeds plenty full although you do have to get them eary like most places generally quite good, towels available for the pool was a good idea. the room was clean and tidy not the biggest but of a good standard ,fridge top up everyday with juice & water. I would say this is a good hotel for familys and couples a good mixture at our time there british guest were about 40%. with a mixture of belguim, german, french.
You must visit the local market and enjoy a haggle with the locals, take a steady 15 min stroll along the promnade and you reach the town a good place to visit and the marine, we booked a boat trip from the hotel it was a lovely day out food drink swimming in the coves a must if you stay at this hotel.
THE Bristol family gave this hotel the big thums up!

My family and I have been going to Turkey about 15 years now , we have been to numerous resortsand stayed AI, BB, HB and SC and usually at most places you get what you pay for.
We have been to Turgutries many times usually at Spring Bank and stay at the Ilknur on a self catering basis as we take our grandchildren and we think this is the best option for them. , but as we were going with friends for a week in Autumn we opted for all inc at the Aegean Dream, we have walked through the hotel many times and all looked ok and the majority of the reports on this site were good
How dissapointed we were , the Hotel is dirty , unkept and in need of a complete revamp. The room was small and dingey , the balcony was tiny and overlooked a massive hedge almost within touching distance. The food was not too bad but was very repetative, the drinks were terrible , the beer glasses plastic , the cocktails were ready mixed in large plastic containers and the spirits all tasted the same. The corridors in the main building were badly stained and the bars were dirty and stunk, all the tables were full of dirty glasses and the staff couldn't care less, the tiny pool area was dangerous with broken tiles and broken sunbeds if you could get one .The entertainment was non existant and the swimming pools were dirty.

We will never go to This Hotel again , more like 2 star , than a 5 star. As usual the town was the place to go in the evening and The Brothers bar and Tashes never alter, all the resteraunts were the same, Friends, Uncles, Hassans all very friendly , we are going back to Turgutries next year but to a Villa , I repeat we would never go to the Aegean Dream even if it was free.

We are not too fussy and have been to hotels good and bad all over Europe, India and Africa but the Aegean Dream was possibly one of the poorest we have ever been to, I does not bear comparison with 5 star Hotels at the Red Sea resorts

This hotel is the best I have stayed in and definately worth it's 5*..It was VERY clean throughout..Staff were very helpful and polite, if you are to them of course. We found nothing wrong with the food or indeed the beverages. My hubbie went overboard with the desserts.
One was given free daily pool/beach towels and the beds were free on the beach. The hotel situation could'nt be better. The sunsets were to die for.
We tried all restaurants and found the fish one exceptionally good.We love fish!. As for the Italian one, well you are in Turkey so the only place to get the real italian food is in Italy. ;)
A lot of people moan about foreign food,to them I say, stay in Britain. We go abroad to eat and live like the locals do,not to eat egg & chips, roast dinners and Tetley tea.
We will be returning to this hotel and when we do, I hope Emen will still be there, such a lovely, friendly welcoming front of desk manager who seems to be on duty 24x7.He will bend over backwards to help you, if needed.
All in all a superb holiday/hotel.I only wish it was open during the winter months as well.
We are 68 & 65 and a well traveled pair and can honestly say, the "Aegean Dream Hotel" is a great holiday hotel.

I booked this hotel with Thomson for a week’s half-term trip, this October for my 7-year old daughter and 19-year old son. We wanted a quality hotel with kids-club, pool and spa etc in order to be assured of a quality time. How wrong we were! I did look at the Thomson and Trip Advisor reviews on the respective websites at the time of booking (early September) and the comments were good. It was on this basis that I made the booking. However, when I re-checked the Trip Advisor website 3 days before departure (26th October) the latest reviews were appalling! I called Thomson with details of these reviews, specifically issues that recent holidaymakers had had at the hotel regarding the food and the lack of air-conditioning. I wanted to investigate the possibility of changing my reservation to another hotel as a result of these reviews. The Thomson representative said that they had not heard anything un-toward about the hotel and could not change my booking. Furthermore, I was also advised that Thomson do not recognize Trip Advisor website reviews and were therefore not in a position to accept the comments made on this site. In desperation, I therefore called the hotel direct and spoke to a Mustafa Polenta (front-of-house manager) who assured me that these issues had been rectified at the hotel and that the Trip Advisor reviews were from only one or two unsatisfied customers out of the 500 or so that stay at the hotel each month during the season. With this re-assurance we embarked on our holiday with a certain amount of trepidation and duly arrived at the hotel on the afternoon of the 26th October.

When we arrived, it was evident that the hotel was in its final week of opening before closing for the winter period. Specifically, the beach-front a-la-carte restaurant was closed (it did not subsequently re-open all week) and even had most of its furniture removed by the 2nd day of our stay! Even though its menu and opening hours were clearly on display in the hotel reception giving the false impression that it was open for business! Furthermore, if, on checking-in, we hadn’t inadvertently asked a member of guest relations sat at a desk about the hotels’ facilities then we wouldn’t have known about the additional a-la-carte restaurants. We therefore made our bookings there and then and were duly advised that the fish restaurant was fully booked for the duration of our stay. If we had waited for the following afternoon’s Thomson briefing then I am sure we would not have been so successful with our bookings for the remaining two a-la-carte restaurants!

Our room was sufficient, nothing special, but it did have a sea-view and a balcony which was good. Most of the room’s electrical sockets and light fittings were loose and therefore unsafe to small, prying fingers and an overhead light fitting was hanging from the ceiling! The safety deposit box worked but was also portable in that it could easily be removed from the room! Another safety issue was the fact that the front door to the room could only be opened fully if the bed nearest to it was moved out of the way! I’m sure that’s a potential fire escape hazard. I needn’t have worried about the air-conditioning though because the room was certainly cold – you just couldn’t heat it up!

The first night’s food in the buffet restaurant was appalling and in no way justified their official 5-star rating. We therefore didn’t eat in the buffet restaurant from the 2nd night onwards choosing instead to dine in the restaurants in the nearby town of Turgutreis. Breakfast was equally unappealing with the only edible hot food being the freshly cooked eggs and omelettes that were cooked in a lake of oil before being served on your plate. Omelettes could be plain or filled with either cheese or tomato but they ran out of tomatoes half way through the serving so thereafter only plain or cheese! Snack lunches were served in the ‘pool bar’ and comprised 2 choices for the full seven day stay; burger and chips or pizza and chips! I would have expected significantly more choice from a so-called 5-star hotel. The two night’s meals we had in the Turkish and Italian restaurants were good with a lot more care and attention paid to the presentation of the food and its quality.

The hotel’s Mandala Spa facilities were good but many of the multi-gym’s weight machines were either broken or had components missing. This meant that I was unable to do any weight training in the gym for the week we were there. The kid’s club entertainers were non-existent and we never had the opportunity to meet any of the animation team to find out what was happening. Also, the event’s notice board by the beach with various kids and adult activities bore no resemblance to what events (if any) were happening.

In conclusion, I feel severely let down by Thomson in that they portray this hotel in their catalogue as a 4 T+ medal winning hotel which was clearly in ‘run-down’ mode for the last week of the season. In my opinion, the hotel’s facilities did not come up to standard and I would suggest that people considering booking this hotel give it a long and hard look before confirming their booking.
