We were taken to the yelken hotel after discovering the hotel we were booked into was not open. The yelken is a beautiful hotel and we could not fault anything about it. The staff were all extremely friendly without being intrusive. We have only given 4 stars for sleep quality, this was nothing to do with the hotel, this was due to noisy ( not young ) neighbours. We would recommend this hotel to anyone young and old. Many thanks again to Mehmet the photographer, Farouk the guest relations rep and Aku the waiter.

Dear Guest,

We would like to inform you with proud that the hotel has been taken over by the Grand Park Hotels which are part of the Corendon Hotels & Resorts Group.

Meanwhile, we are working hard to restore and renew the accommodation. In addition, the staff is prepped with customer care and service trainings which will be proceeded throughout the whole winter so we can start the season with a complete different Grand Park- approach.

Our aim is to be the place where everyone feels at home and therefore we are highly appreciating that you shared your experiences. This ensures that we can optimize our product and service quality.

Our doors will be opened in the summer season of 2017 and perhaps we can convince you to welcome you in our new hotel.

Sincerely,

Grand Park Bodrum

After reading some of the previous reviews, I was very apprehensive about this holiday. I needn't have worried. The hotel is lovely. ALL the staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome. The bar staff are very efficient.
The food is very well cooked and there is a good variety everyday.
The rooms are clean and you can see constant attention to cleaning taking place throughout the hotel all day.
The poolside area is tidy and clean and there is plenty of room to relax.
The gym is fairly well equipped with basic weight machine, 4 treadmills, 2 spinning bikes, cross trainers and exercise bikes - perfect for off-setting some of the damage done by eating the scrummy turkish cakes on offer at meal times!
I would not recommend paying for the market trips through the hotel or local reps. They are way too expensive - for a trip to Turgetries market it would have cost us approx £30 (for 3 people)- we took a dolmus and it cost 7.50 LT each way - approx £6.

Hotel was great value for money - facilities and food extremely good and all the staff were very welcoming.
Rooms, communcal areas and outside were maintained very well and there was an attention to cleanliness.
I know the area well - so beware of the trips - £10 per person for a day out to Turgurtries market is daylight robbery. you can walk or alternatively get a dolum at the top road for 50p. literally.
Si, the new entertainment manager, was doing a good job given the small audience for the off season. He may need to change/add to his team - no comment on Mr Senegal !! I am sure Si will be great when the hotel is full occupancy.

Room Tip: Try to book the rooms direct, not with a package

My partner and I stayed at the Yelken hotel in september 2010 in which we had a wonderful time! We paid about 400 pound for the week all inclusive and becuase of that it was really worth the money. The room was really modern and clean, the hotel itself is spotless, food great most of the time. The pools were really nice, one for the lively types and one for the quiet types! Over all a really nice hotel.
However things to be aware of...at night there is not really a lot going on and the hotel is practically closed at 12.00am. At night there is a lovely lobby bar, however this is often full and you normally have to take a seat in in the pool bar where they serve you drinks from plastic cups. You dont really feel sitting there as you have probably sat there in the afternoon with your flip flops on!! My partner and I bought alcohol on the plane and sat on the balcony after midnight which is worth doing if you fancy a late drink!! The other point to be aware of is that meals state they are served till 9.30 but you find they are packing everything aways and hurrying you up at 9.00pm. My partner and i felt at times we were being rushed so go to eat a bit earlier so you dont feel like you need to rush your dinner!!
The other thing to be aware of is the boat trips that they sell from the resort, although me and my partner really enjoyed the trip, they brought you drinks and snacks making out they were free and then charged you with an expensive bill at the end. My partner didnt have enough money and had to run to room to get it. We later found that if you walk to the harbour in turgetries you can get a boat there really cheap!!!
From the other reviews i have read people are harping on about there not being enough english!! get over it. You are definatley in the minority but it makes a refreshing change if you ask me!!
Over all a great holiday but i wouldnt pay more than 500 pound allinclusive. you may be disapointed if you pay any more

We had a very nice holiday week in Yelken ,it was our second time since last year, you can see

The difference between last year and this stay.

The staff and the management are very helpful and doing the best to have your holiday enjoyable.

There are two new a la carte restaurants at the roof with a beautiful sea view and you seem to be on

A boat .The new relax pool fronting the beach was the top.no children ,they used the

Other one and we could relax reading our books.

Very spacious and comfortable rooms with sea view and large balcony.

Thanks to the restaurant staff,we had always a table and had not to wait at the buffet in the main restaurant.

We are continuing to discover the country and will write our opinions from other Hotels where we will stay…
