“A fantastic week in a lovely town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2010

A good mix of great restaurants, a few lively bars (if thats what you want) a great market on Saturdays and every evening the market in town is a great place to wander around. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the place because it wasnt too busy like Bodrum. There is a bar street with the usual guys trying to get you into their bars but the street can be avoided if you want. There are some great places to eat so its worth trying a different place every night. Plenty of Turkish barber shops and you can get a shave for 10 lira which is an interesting experience. The beach is really good and the coastline clean. There is a harbour where you can get daily boat trips which are great if you love the sun and are not sea sick. If you love scuba then seek out the local scuba school (I did 2 dives for £40, bargain) overall its a great place for couples but I would struggle there for 2 weeks.

“Eating out is so good here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2009

Hi just come back and wanted to share the great eating places in Turgetreis.
Don't miss
La Villa, along the sea front towards the boat trips.
Say Hi to Phillip from Gill, Russ & Abi. He'll be really pleased to meet you.
Fantastic food and really good service from a great team. If you are lucky you may well get a magic show!

Then try Nazar on the Market Square, look for the yellow and white stripe awning. Say Hi again to Ozjan, he's the one with the lovely smile. This is a fave place with the locals. Menu is a bit more limited but is definately truly authentic Turkish. Don't miss this place.

Also good are ....

Can hidden away in the little streets. An expensive one but again great food.

Sunset again on the front. Go for their Turkish pot. Absolutly fab abd the best one in town. The main man here is Endol, the tall good looking one!

There is another one run by a Russian guy 'Michael' He'll fuss over you like a dream so it's worth a try. I think it's oppostie Kings Restaurant.

Finally, just want a cheap and cheerful kebap on the move then go to the kebap shop right by the bus station. Lovely small place, family run, clean, cheap and tasty!

Wish I'd got more cards from the others but I think it's a great town to eat in and all the restaurants are good

“Tip Top Turgutreis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2009

Just returned from 2 weeks in Turgutreis and it was fantastic! Not for those who want to go clubbing every night but there is still a very good range of pubs/bars. The place is lovely and the people there were the friendliest I have ever encountered anywhere! There are lots of restaurants; we found the quality of food to be excellent and the portions substantial. The prices are 'cheap as chips'; the most we paid for an entire meal was under £30 and this included 2 starters, 2 mains and 4 beers! The cheapest was under £10! I would recommend Nazar (cheap, free bread/salad, gorgeous food), La Villa & MonaLisa (both on the front with wonderful views of the sunset), Can (in the middle of the shops) and Anatolia (beautiful & traditional) restaurants, and would recommend Ozzy's Bar (nobody pressures you to go in unlike on Bar Street) and Target Bar (near Can in the middle of the shops) if you want a relaxing beer or cocktail. A boat trip is a must, we used Destiny and had a great day. All in all an excellent holiday and we shall definitely be returning.
