“tasty comfort food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

we were in Asheboro window shopping when we came across magnolia 23..being from up north, we decided to try it...and very happy we did...the fried chicken was delicious along with the sides,(we had 4 sides) ..during our meal we received the best attention from the waitress and the owner..we chatted for awhile and informed him how satisfied and delicious the food was..we felt right at home and we will surely return with our friends and family..

“Great Southern Cooking Friendly Personnel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

This was our first visit to this restaurant. I had heard good things about it from others. They have a varied menu featuring mostly southern favorites. I would highly recommend the fried chicken. The owner came by to greet and welcome us on our first visit. He said he would come back to see how we liked the food which he did. We received prompt service. I would like to go back and try one of their homemade desserts.

“Asheboro's Secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

Without a doubt, this is the BEST restaurant in Asheboro! Some may be fancier, a lot are pricier, but none are better. The food is clearly prepared with love and is down home cooking at its best. I have been there three times, and every meal was consistently good with excellent service. The owner, Dave, is top notch and takes an interest in all his customers, going table to table checking on everyone and their meals.

Fried chicken, Mac n cheese, pork chops, they all will make you want to smack your mama! If you miss this it's your loss!

“Home cooking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

Were in Asheboro shopping for antiques. We were on the way to a more obvious restaurant and I saw this small, unassuming sign with folks eating. We went in, the menu was on the blackboard, everything from scratch. Best chicken and dumplings I have had since I was very young - melt in your mouth. Owner and his daughter were friendly, took time to chat but did not sacrifice service to others, we felt like we were guests in someone's home. This is over 40 miles from our home but we would drive there again. I would describe this as down home comfort food at its best. Thank you!

“Great Place in a Small Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

We wandered into this lovely place while passing through Asheboro. We were greeted by a friendly staff and served our meals within 5 minutes of ordering. The menu was simple (3 meat dishes and 11 sides available). It was delicious! The charming owner came by our table for a quick chat. We will make a special trip back to eat here for sure.
