We just had a conference here and for a hotel at the beach, the place was very nice. The location is very nice, right on the beach with a very nice pool, small beachside bar and pier. Staff is excellent. Restaurant is nice given that there are local restaurants that are nearby. The rooms are also nice... Could use a little renovation which is planned.

We had a good stay Housekeeping could use a little boost but overall was good stay Check in and out is easy Molly's was great a little higher priced but good food Close to everywhere Staff friendly and helpful

I started staying at this hotel in April of 1989. I've returned 11 times between 1989-2001. It used to be Sheraton Atlantic Beach. After a storm, it was a troubled property that was sold at courthouse sale for about $4 million. It was closed a few years, after a hurricane, for renovation and financial woes.

We knew that when we booked our reservation in July 2013. Now a Doubletree Suites Hotel. When we arrived, luggage guy was awesome. Check-in was fairly routine at a rate of $200+ a night.

Maid service disgusting. They missed us second day. I thought what the heck we'll forget the first day but second day, I called manager. This was at 5:00 PM. First day I tipped maid in hopes of good service during our five night stay.

Molly's the pier place is the same as years past. On the pricey side but it's an eatery with great ocean view. Hotel is best property in area but needs management change. The area is still a great place to visit but their icon hotel in region needs help.

Check-out, a disaster. Luggage guy I trained to load the baggage cart. I'm a wheelchair user and didn't want g/f hustling five days of luggage. At desk, I asked to see manager and clerk said, 'he's in his office." I was in a bit of a hurry but should have asked for comp or discount for our troubles.

Bottom line, it's a good property with great ocean views. They might sell your parking space for $5 bucks to a day surfer. I hope I return but not as often as I used to. If you're considering booking here, you'll enjoy beach, pool, and pier, which was damaged in hurricane but restored to half it's length. Just be prepared to pay huge for room service etc. This could be a 4 or even 5 star property with good management. I wish them well. Maybe I'll return someday....maybe

Room Tip: All rooms have ocean view. About 1/3 are ocean front.

AC would not work. Horrible room service experience - spent 40 minutes calling room service and food that was delivered was sub par. Just not very friendly. The location was not near any decent restaurants - so unless you are eating there - you are kinda screwed.

* Rooms are tired * Below average for a Double Tree - could use a renovation * Allowing glass by the pool - not cool?? - The hotel guests were trashy for lack of better terms and not up to par for the regular Hilton crowd - this was disappointing - would have stayed at a motel if we wanted to be around with this bunch (dip spit in toilets, guests in trashy clothing, etc) * If you are going to charge for a chaise lounge and umbrella - at least have nice chaise lounges not cheap lounges Bottom line - this place needs an upgrade and closer watch on the guests per room - the cookies were delicious & the on the beach location is great so overall this hotel gets an average rating
