My husband and I spent our babymoon here for 4 days last week. The Inn is the only AAA 5 star rated place in Ohio. I would give it closer to a five star and my husband a 4 star, so I guess our average score on this place would be a 4.5 star rating.

Pros:
1. The Spa is now open and is great. The spa has all private rooms; which means you get undressed in your own room, spend time pre-and post treatments in your own room and you can do whatever you want in your own room. It has top of the line jacuzzi tubs, multiple jet showers, tea service, window seat, toilet, all sorts of relaxing things. No locker rooms, waiting in a common area in a robe or sharing a hot tub or shower room with other people. The do have couples rooms and singles rooms. We both had treatments and they really were some of the best we have ever had.

2. The service is top-notch. There is nothing the staff won't do for you.

3. The room we had was super huge....1250 square feet in our loft suite and if we really wanted to could have stayed in our room for 4 days, since they can deliver anything you want to your room....including spa treatments.

4. The Barn restaurant is excellent.

5. Comfort at this place is great..

Cons:
1. No pool on site. There is one at the neighboring country club and they transport you there in their Suburban (same with the Barn restuarant, the golf course and the Club House dining). It was never a problem for them to transport you and it is complimentary. We had heard through a person at the SPA that they may be installing a small pool outside the SPA though in about 6 months.

2. No blanket or throw to snuggle up with in your room on the couch watching TV.

3. They charge you for drinks at the complimentary hors d'houvre hour.

Also, they do have stables and horses there that you can visit and ride (at the Inn site). But being in my third trimester, and scared of falling off a horse, we did not do that. We really did enjoy our time and was what we were looking for before the baby comes. This is not a party place, not a place for kids...it is a romantic, quiet, low key, "formal" place where you will get personalized service. It is a place to relax.

Our much anticipated return to the Walden Inn was everything we had experienced the first time. We returned to our same "Pyramid Suite" but are sure any room here with the fireplace and fabulous bathroom amenities would be great. This wonderfully quiet and romantic inn makes for a special get away whether close to home or for couples traveling to the Cleveland / Akron area. The personal yet unobtrusive service pleases. It is easy to lock oneself in the room and not come out for 24-48 hours. Staff transported us to dinner and wine, roses, and chocolate awaited us upon return.

This is no party place. It is a wonderful business and/or romantic retreat for individuals/couples who enjoy being pampered in a classy, understated sort of way. It is a place where one feels simultaneously stimulated and relaxed.

We look forward to returning again perhaps this time, sampling some of the services at the new spa.

We have stayed here 5 times in the past 18 months. The guest rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. No other place comes close. The staff is friendly and gives great service. It is great for romantic get-a-ways. Fireplaces, jacuzzis, digital music-It must be seen. If you've been there once, you'll have to return. We're so lucky to have this place in our area.
