This Holiday Inn Express is not one of the newer or nicer ones we have stayed in. We travel a lot, and prefer Holiday Inn Express, but this one was very different from what we are used to. It seemed old. It smelled like old cigarette smoke covered up with some kind of fragrance, even in our "non-smoking" room.

The room decor was downright depressing. Everything was brown - straight out of the seventies. There was not enough lighting. It felt like a seedy motel. The lobby, however, appeared newly decorated.

The beds were comfortable.

Staff was pleasant and attentive.

The room was clean.

The rate was average.

We stayed here this past weekend to attend the D-day Reenactment in Conneaut, Ohio. By the way the reenactment was great! Anyway, the hotel was very nice. I can't say anything negative about it. The entire hotel was very clean. The rooms, lobby, pool, breakfast area and even the parking lot were kept exceptionally clean. Also, all of the staff that we interacted with was very professional. The self serve full hot breakfast was very good as well. The two women that served it kept everything filled with hot, fresh items. The front desk clerks were very helpful in suggesting a place for dinner. I usually don't feel completely comfortable in a hotel because of the cleanliness of it but I was able to relax completely and have a great time.

We were in the area to visit Geneva on the Lake and the Wineries. The HIE location is perfect. It is right in the middle of everything. A short drive in either direction will take you to all of the hot spots. The hotel staff is friendly, our room was clean and their coffee is excellent and plentiful in the morning. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends and family planning to stay in the area.

Room Tip: Third floor would be best. Overhead noise on the lower floors could be a problem.

We were driving through around midnight and needed a place to stay. Called the holiday inn generic number and told $169 for a king suite, nothing else available. Then we called the hotel itself and the receptionist was very nice an said she'd give us the same room for $119 so we took it. Recently remodeled, clean rooms, friendly service, no interstate noise, maids spoke English. My family liked the big breakfast, but I agree with not a lot of healthy choices. worth it for $119, not $169.

This hotel is renovated as you can tell by the very nice large lobby, and updated rooms. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The room we had (318) was a two queen executive suite, this suite is very large the living area has a wetbar with a microwave, mini-fridge, and some kitchen items. There is also a dining room table, and the pull out couch and TV next to it. The bedroom was very large and the beds were very comfortable. The pool and hot tub was very well kept and I was the only in it. There is also a government rate which people who are in the military can use! The price of the suite was only 110.00 (with tax) The only downsides of this hotel is the WiFi is slow and the breakfast wasn't the best I have had when I have stayed at hotels... Overall a very nice stay.

Room Tip: Get the executive suites!
