“4 years later and the kids still like it better than Disney!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013

This was our second visit and I wasn't sure if my kids would still love it as much as they did 4 years ago but wow, did they ever! They love roaming the property, brushing the horse and donkey, chasing chickens and collecting eggs and herding the sheep. I had to stop them to eat lunch - no one wanted to sit still for that! They were outside from 9 in the morning until well after 6 at night and loved it. On our first trip, they said that they prefer the farm to Disneyland and that was still their opinion even at the ages of 9 and 10.
Scottie is a fantastic hostess and puts you right at ease. She was great at sharing the rules with the kids and responsibilities with them. The cabin is a perfect spot to with a really nice view of the fields. It is nicely kept and clean.
After two days I found that I didn't want to leave and go back to a "noisier" life... we will definitely go back again.
Thank you!

Our second trip to Leaping Lamb Farm was just as much fun as the first, we knew what to expect and what to bring. It was great to see Scottie and have full reign of the farm. My daughters aged 11 and 8 loved all of the animals, brushing Paco, hand feeding Boots, feeding the rams and gathering the chickens eggs. I loved watching the birds gobble up the bird seed on our deck and relaxing while the girls explored the farm.
We will definitely return next summer!! Thank you.

I remember: the children coursing over the meadows, bounding towards lambs who bound away, bottle feeding the newborn bummer lambs in the original old barn (which I enjoyed as much as the children), the lambs wag their little tails with joy as you feed them and scratch their ears. We hiked the mossy-forest hills and played in the shallow stream. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and came supplied with fresh milk, eggs, cream, and bread. The kids played in the hay loft, helped gather eggs, fed the horses, rang in the sheep, and loved every minute. We walked and cooked and read and drank wine and found peace, looking over the sweeping green valley from our roofed deck. Magical.

When we drove away, my husband said to our girls, "That was the best vacation we've ever had." The trust that Scottie and Greg place in their guests allow the kids to act as if they truly live on the farm - they can wander down to the turkeys and chickens, explore the barn, brush the donkey and find the swing. The freedom, beauty and hospitality of the farm was more than we could have ever imagined. We could have stayed forever in our warm, cozy, clean, quiet cabin, drinking wine as we watched the rams graze right over the edge of the deck. You could see the chickens and turkeys beyond, and the rest of the sheep herd grazing on hay next to the creek. The baby lambs were magical, two born the morning of our arrival, older ones available for feedings and hugs. I can't say enough about the experience for everyone in our family!

Leaping Lamb Farm is a unique vacation getaway. The guest cabin is more than a cabin with all the comforts of home - 2 bedrooms, a full and stocked kitchen, a living room, televisions, and washer and dryer. The eggs in our refrigerator, which came from the hen house only steps away from our cabin, were quite the hit with us and our children. Many other food items are also provided.

But the best part of our two night stay was caring for the animals...feeding the chickens, collecting eggs, brushing Paco the donkey, feed the baby lambs milk from a bottle, and feeding the sheep their favorite alfalfa.

This is a great, interactive experience for families and can be a quiet getaway for couples or individuals.

Scottie and her husband Greg are wonderful hosts and will make sure you are well taken care of.

Bring your rain or hiking boots as it does get pretty muddy!
