Oregon Shakespeare Festival

Attraction details
Owner description: You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

“Always Amazes”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

This year I decided to go for a road trip down to the festival with my eight year old. It has been over 10 years since I last saw a play at OSF, so I wasn't sure if it was going to work for a child with a growing interest in the theater. It turned out to be an amazing trip. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival never fails when it comes to productions with brilliant actors, directors with creative vision, costumers that make every story come to life, and staging designs that push every spectator into a dream world.

I really recommend taking all people who are interested in the theater that are over the age of 6 (most shows don't allow the little little ones). And have a great time falling into the imaginations of great playwrights!

“A Wonderful Theatre”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I've been going to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival since 1969 when the motto was "Stay Four Days, See Four Plays." It was been a source of pride and joy to see OSF grow into one of the top theatres in the United States. Season after season and play after play, my soul, heart and mind are touched and moved by the outstanding work onstage.

“World-class plays.”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I am a local and go to a few plays every year. All the seats are great and the plays are so well done. They do have 'budget seats' available if you buy your tickets in advance. These seats are just fine.

I can not gush enough about the quality of the productions at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival. Well run and well organized. I can't think of a down side.

“The play's the thing.”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I saw The Tempest (my favorite Shakespeare play). It was well staged and interesting, but their Prospero was meh. It's really a shame because his character's transformation from vengeful to forgiving is the whole point of the play.
