We stayed at the this Hotel during the Rogue Memorial Soccer Tournament May 2014. The layout seemed to be a bit odd at first, but we had a wonderful experience. The Staff was terrific! We were there with over twenty soccer families from our team- 20+ 10 yr & 11yr girls! The food was terrific, and plentiful- the afternoon & evening snacks were just what we needed to keep the kids satisfied.
Great location to downtown Ashland, without a lot of noise.
Ashland was beautiful, and we are planning a trip here without the soccer team sometime!

Room Tip: Not much room for large trucks/vans in the parking area.

Easy walk to plays and restaurants and shopping.
Friendly service. Breakfast is hot if you want hot, or cold if you want cereal and milk; a lot of choices. There was a fresh fruit salad. For someone as picky as I am, I was pleased with the food. This is my third stay here and I plan to come again.

When we arrived we realized we made a mistake when reserving a room. But when we talked with the staff they immediately found us something g that would suit our needs. Breakfast was great and the rooms are updated and clean!! Very comfortable and a great place to stay for a night or a week! All the staff were friendly and accommodating!

We stay in this hotel every summer (5 years in a row), but decided to have an extra, quick stop in March because we love Ashland. This is one of the better hotels in Ashland, with a fantastic location. Unfortunately, things are starting to go downhill. It's well time to update some of the furniture, bedding, and curtains. Many things are stained, with holes. The staff also needs to do a better job cleaning under the glass they put on top of their side tables and desks. There are crumbs and drink rings. The most noticeable dirty area was the white bathroom door. There were smears on both sides of some type of lotion and black finger prints. The hallway carpets also have quite a few stains in them, and the walls are pretty marked up. It does not help the aesthetic value AT ALL. They really need to pay more attention to detail and start updating! It's a shame, because we love this hotel's location, and the little amenities. Wine and cheese tasting in the afternoon is always enjoyed. They also have cookies and drinks late at night, though the cookies used to be fresh baked and warm, I think they are now packaged.

Overall, they are lacking the cleanliness and attention to detail that once made them great. We were so disappointed we have moved our regular summer booking to a different Ashland hotel.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms have the best views and ambience.

If I had to rate the room alone then I would give this hotel a 4 rating. We had a comfortable room on 3rd floor overlooking the creek/garden. Very quiet and comfortable.

But what let the hotel down for us were the breakfasts and other 'treats'.

Let's start with breakfast on our first morning- Memorial day, a poor selection available and NO fresh fruit. An expanded continental breakfast and no fruit....this must violate some trade description. Not much better the next day, just a few browning bananas. Hot selection also seemed to run out by 7:30 each morning, it may have been replenished later....

Evening snack - a few crackers and cheese, or some tortilla chips and dip ..... If a member of staff wasn't there before you and walked off with an overloaded bowl of chips ....I kid you not....this did happen.

To summarise, go for a comfortable room in a convenient location, but they really must up the game on catering.
