My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. The property is about a mile south of central Ashland, so it was too far to walk to the Shakespeare plays or the shopping area. But other than that, we LOVED the adorable cottages, the gardens, the pool and the general retro ambience. Our cottage was #2, and it had two double beds. It was clean, cozy and quiet, with reading lights for both beds and a great shower. Nice toiletries, too. Organic coffee was served in the small lobby and we could take it back to our room. There are outdoor patios, tables and chairs for lounging and snacking, and the gardens, water features and pool are all beautiful and well kept. The guy who checked us in and the woman who checked us out were both sweet, funny and helpful. We walked two doors south to Morning Glory Cafe for a fantastic breakfast. It was a great stay!

This cozy place far exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our dog and heard that Ashland was not pet-friendly. After being turned down by several places, we booked a room at The Palm. Upon our fast, easy check-in they supplied us with a loaner food bowl, doggy mess bags, and a high quality dog treat. The room was so spacious and very well taken care of. Beyond spotless. The bathroom was stocked with top quality products, and big, soft towels. Our suite had a kitchenette which was well stocked with coffee, tea, salt, pepper, plates, pots/pans, utensils, spatula, wine glasses, mugs...
After an amazing night's sleep on a great mattress, we walked to town-about 15 minutes-to the main square. Beautiful, friendly, active town. The Palm was surprisingly quiet for being on the main boulevard. We had the room in the back and were undisturbed. Really appreciate the staff, the eco products, and the ease of travel to and from The Palm.

Room Tip: The back corner suite where we stayed is right next to a quaint garden space with tables where we sat to have dinner one night. Plus we only had neighbors on one side.

On our last trip to Ashland we noticed that the oh-so-dated Palm No-tell Motel had undergone a seriously cool makeover. This year, we decided to book a room and check it out. What a great decision! We had a unit with kitchen, and were delighted and the urban-chic quasi retro furnishings. The coffee, tea, lotion, shampoo, soaps were all very boutiquey hotel, and the only drawback was that you've got to leave in the morning to get breakfast elsewhere unless you bring it in. (Well okay, they don't carry chips/snacks in the office, just drinks). We are also serious English cottage-garden people and loved loved LOVED the beautiful flower gardens, pots and waterfalls that grace every nook and cranny of the property. The lawn areas invite cups of tea and lazy afternoon reading between shows, and the new Tuscany pool area redo is sunsational! Loved the $25 cabana rentals, though the free rank-and-file chaises were just peachy keen. Now you do pay for this retro fabulousness, but the Palm is our new Ashland getaway.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have decks.

The gardens were beautiful. We had unit 6 which was nice but your average nice room. No balcony or porch. Small. Not really walking distance for us to the shows. But the price was good. Stayed at the Blue Moon last two times I was up there. Will pay extra to stay there next time.

The Palm has such character and charm. The grounds and lovely and the staff were helpful. The furniture is shabby shique and Thr bed very comfortable. It's only one block away from Morning Glory cafe, the best place in town for breakfast.
