Columbia hotel really deserves 5 stars. Super clean, the best customer service and tourist advice, walking distance to nearly everything in Ashland, excellent morning coffee by Noble Coffee roasters, and we could bring our bikes into the rooms. Some rooms are pretty small when you add two bicycles - not an issue since there is a lovely sitting room. Ashland has tough competition for tourist dollars and Columbia Hotel shines among the best.

Room Tip: Some rooms with A/C (cost a bit more) do not have windows that can be opened.

I was walking down Main Street looking for a place to stay near the theaters when my curiosity was peaked as a distinguished older woman quickly made a turn and disappeared behind a door. She had entered the door at 262 Main Street. I opened it and made my way up the stairs to the sweet, family-owned, European-style hotel known as The Columbia Hotel. What a wonderful, serendipitous discovery. That was 12 years ago. There's three things I love about visiting Ashland, OR The plays of course, Lithia Park and The Columbia Hotel. All three are like old friends. If you are looking for a quiet, friendly, comfortable and unpretentious place with fresh flowers and a warm staff and friendly fellow travelers this is the place. This is not the Hilton. Lucky for you, Paris and The Kardashians will not be staying here. Check out the phone booth in the lobby. You can still make a phone call from there and the staff is more than happy taking your picture while you do so. Yes, there is wireless but no T.V. Sweet!

This is a lovely hotel located in the center of town. If you want something different from the "standard" hotel footprint, stay at this charming hotel. It is located on the second floor on Main Street. The hotel has unique rooms and shared bathroom - though each room has a sink in it. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful.
It is easy to walk out the door and explore the downtown area of Ashland by foot.
Treat yourself to this wonderful experience in hotel comfort.

Room Tip: Each room is different. All rooms are located on the second floor of the building and there is a lo...

It was wonderful to visit before the summer heat and crowds. We have almost always stayed at the Columbia because of its location where we can walk to the Shakespeare festival and restaurants, and because of its charming rooms and service. Daniel at the front desk was especially helpful, and fun to talk to besides. Gary and Joan L. Pleasant Hill, CA

Room Tip: We liked Room 5 because of the bath and great window where we looked out at snow on the hills the fi...

This was our third trip to Ashland and the Columbia is the finest! The hotel is beautiful, quaint, quiet, comfortable and absolutely lovely. Tea, coffee, flowers, and the most helpful and kind staff made this an absolute delight. We felt like honored guests or family....deeply cared for. I highly recommend the Columbia, whether you are a family or a couple, young or seasoned

Room Tip: Window over Main St. was beautiful. Incredibly comfortable beds and bedding!

We could not more highly recommend the Columbia hotel in Ashland,OR. The room was clean, cozy and oh so quiet. No phones, no TV. Wonderful! The hotel ambiance is period elegant, plush and conducive to relaxation, reading and contemplation. The location in central downtown is within walking distance of the theaters,, outstanding shopping and indescribable eateries of every taste and price range. The entire staff was eagerly and enthusiastically accommodating, helpful and knowledgable . We will most assuredly be back to the Columbia Hotel in Ashland!

Room Tip: We specifically requested a room with a bathroom. The shared facilities are, however, just fine

The Columbia Hotel is my first choice of a place to stay in Ashland. I've been going down to the Shakespeare festival for years and have stayed at various spots during that time. Once I found the Columbia, I don't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: I like staying in the rooms that face the street. There is a bit more noise, but the views of the t...
