“Drinks Good; Food Mediocre”
Reviewed 25 May 2013

Our dinner group ate at this pub last week. We found the place very noisy and the food forgettable. We did enjoy the selection of libations and the service was fine. The fries were limp, the burgers dry, and the shepherd's pie served so that the potatoes had to be mostly gone before you got to the meat and vegetables. There are too many good places to eat in this town to make this a place of choice, especially if you're with a group who would like to converse while eating.

“Your New Local In Ashland”
Reviewed 19 May 2013

What other pubs want to be but aren't. Great drink and very good food. Entertainment to boot. What's not to love?

“Great food!”
Reviewed 10 May 2013

Definitely a surprising find! Really good homemade veggie burgers and good beer selection. Good music quite often as well. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is such a small spot that the music will often blow out your ears and a couple of times we have had to leave cause it was so loud.

“Locals spot”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

We often come here for the great selection of beers on tap and we really like the food. Family friendly but tends to be loud especially when the band starts. Our three year old likes it here because of the train table and toys. We love the beers, grilled sandwiches and veggie pot pie, not to mention their homemade deserts. It can get crowded at times and we wish they had outdoor tables.

“A great pub experience”
Reviewed 20 January 2013

I don't get here often enough. A perfect pour of Guinness (made better by the fact the owner/bartender doesn't say "we do a perfect pour so it'll take a minute.") The food is very high quality pub fare, but again this is Ashland so it costs more than it should which is the only reason for the four stars rather than five. Oh, and there's always soccer playing on the big screen behind the bar. Overall a great local place far enough away from the Shakespeare Festival to minimize the tourist quotient, but still close enough to other Ashland attractions and galleries.
