“Beautiful Place”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights and had a great experience. They give a nice military discount. The place is absolutely gorgeous. They serve a continental breakfast, which was included in our room price and the food was amazing...all fresh and homemade. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a spa room with a soaking tub and it was great but if you are sensitive to the smell of sulfur, I wouldn't recommend a spa room. They also have extremely comfortable beds. We will definitely be visiting there again.

This is the 2nd year we've stayed at Lithia Springs Resort and I wondered if the experience would equal last year's. It was totally amazing once again! The entire staff is friendly and bends over backwards to be accommodating. The chef, Cheryl, is so nice & prepares all the ample, delicious serve-yourself breakfasts (included with your stay) as well as complimentary tea treats every afternoon. She kindly shared a requested recipe and plenty of lively conversation with us. Front desk personnel are wonderful (I mention especially Christa), as well as the room service & kitchen staff. Everyone has a smile and a warm greeting for each guest as they walk past.
Our room was a suite with kitchenette/frig, Jacuzzi tub, separate bedroom, TV, currently there's no telephone but you can use the one at the front desk. The water is from hot springs so has the sulphur smell to it. They are expanding on the property to add more accommodation as well as an outdoor pool & outdoor Jacuzzi. The gardens are spectacular: restful, beautifully presented with flowers blooming everywhere, a pond with koi, many separate, private outdoor seating areas to relax, read a book, chat with a friend.
I didn't marked "location" as "excellent" simply because the property is not within walking distance of the Shakespeare theaters. It's about 2 miles. You'd need a car. However, it is adjacent to the walking/running/bike trail which is across the street.
In short, beautiful, peaceful, relaxing accommodations with super personnel and outstanding food make this a 'nothing short of spectacular' review!

This is a charming spot, only a few miles out of Ashland. One section is under construction - they are adding more accommodations and a swimming and soaking pool. My husband and I booked our room only about 3 weeks ahead, so we didn't expect the best room, but we were put in a cottage surrounded by construction. The main reason for staying here is for the lovely grounds, but all we could see was dirt out our windows. HOWEVER - the hostess was wonderful and put us in a very charming 'tower room' for the first night, which was really wonderful! Here's what is great -
Service - everyone was very helpful. The yummy, hot breakfast buffet in the garden room. The lobby and dinning areas have been remodeled and are very nice. Walking through the gardens - bring a bottle of wine & sit & sip! And the mineral springs soaking tubs in the rooms are heavenly!
Ask for the 'spa rooms' - they have beem remodeled and are furthest from the construction.
I will definitely return (after construction) to see how the pools turn out and enjoy the "get-away-from-it-all" feel.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a remodeled room the Spa Rooms are nice.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our property and share your thoughts. We apologize that the view from your Patio Bungalow was less than ideal during our construction period. Since your visit, our housekeeping and gardening staff have worked to revitalized the patios of these rooms with some much needed TLC. During the phase of construction when paving was occurring, these patios were inaccessible for the necessary upkeep, and now that the paving is complete, our gardening staff has resumed their work, resulting in tidy, beautiful patios for guests to enjoy.

Additionally, we are happy to report that the project is entering its final phases. We anticipate having the outdoor pool & Jacuzzi as well as six of the twelve new units open by the first week of July with the remaining six units opening soon after by mid July. We would love to welcome you back with these new additions soon to be completed. As a side note: the Water Tower Suite that you found so charming will now have a pool side view!

We are happy to hear that you received warm and welcoming service from our front desk, breakfast, and housekeeping staff. It is the goal of all of our staff to create an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere and to be on hand to share all that our property and surrounding area has to offer.

Just a side note regarding your tip to choose "Spa Rooms." The majority of our rooms have been newly remodeled. All of our Garden Rooms, Spa Bungalows, and specialty suites have been remodeled and all but one of our rooms on property has either a one or two-person sized mineral springs soaking tub in room for private soaking.

The Spa Bungalow is a guest favorite. These first floor rooms have a garden entrance. They are perfect for couples as they have a large two-person sized mineral springs soaking tub in the living room area from which you can sip champagne and turn on your flat screen or have the fireplace going. They have a lovely sitting area with a couch that pulls out into a queen sized tempurpedic sofa bed, if needed. The bedroom, which is separate from the living room has a plush king sized bed. The room rate includes our full hot breakfast, a daily afternoon tea service with fresh baked goodies, complimentary property wide wi-fi, and parking.

We hope to see you and your husband again soon. If you decide to return we recommend calling us directly to book your next stay as our front desk agents are quite familiar with our property and are always happy to help you select the best room for your needs!

Thank you again for sharing your experience at our resort.

Warm Regards,
Alder Bishop

I am in shock. I came to Ashland to shop and go to the Shakespeare festival so I thought I would stay at the Lithia Springs resort b/c co-workers told me about it. I check in and the girl says " I only work until 9:30 and the other girl does not come on until 7:00 AM so if you need security or lock yourself out of your room you can call a number". So I get to my room...there is no phone in the room. Huh? What hotel does not have a phone in the room?? Not everyone has a cell phone ( thinking of my 78 year old Mom) . Then I get into my " newly renovated room" to find plastic furniture with tin tables and a silver foot rest that has somebody's shoe skidmarks all over it. The most disgusting thing is that my room has cobwebs over the Jacuzzi and there where bugs flying around my room. I also had to kill bugs on the floor with my shoe. The grounds of the place are over grown and un- kept. You need a machete to get to the ice machine. At $179.00 a night you are better off staying downtown at the Ashland Springs Hotel (which is less expensive and ten times nicer )and go to the Lithia hot springs on your own.

Thank you very much for your response. While we are saddened to hear that your experience did not match your expectations, we would like to clarify a few points in hopes that we may provide a clearer understanding of what type of resort we are, and what we hope our guests will experience when visiting us for future stays. This response also hopes to explain how we might better meet the needs of future guests in the ways you describe as lacking.

First, you are correct, we do not currently have a 24 hour desk or phones in the rooms. We do, however, have a conveniently located outdoor 24 hour guest phone that is directly linked to our sister property the Ashland Springs Hotel. This phone is available for guests to use and is advertised both in the rooms as well as on the front door of the lobby after our office has closed for the evening. In the case that a guest might lock themselves out of their room or desire any sort of after-hours help, we are a short call away from getting a manager to assist with re-entry or to provide in-person troubleshooting. We do apologize if this explanation was not thoroughly given to you at check in. As a result of your feedback we have re-focused the entire front desk staff on the importance of giving every single guest this information verbally at check in as well as having it provided it in writing in your room. As we expand from a small garden bed and breakfast type resort to a larger garden and spa resort with more rooms and greater amenities we are listening to our guests' feedback and trying to anticipate our needs. In this vein, we will soon be implementing either longer staffed check in hours till 12am or possibly even a 24 hour desk at some point.

In regards to your comments about the condition of your room, we apologize that you were not happy with the newly renovated modern décor and the style of the furniture. Your room comes equipped with a large two person sized mineral springs soaking tub for which we pride ourselves in our guests being able to take private mineral baths. You describe the Jacuzzi as having cobwebs covering it, we apologize that you found cobwebs near your mineral tub. As a result, we have had our head of housekeeping meet with her staff to remind all housekeepers to be please be hyper vigilant of corners and details such as spider webs in hope that this will not be encountered by future guests.

In regards to having to kill a bug on your carpet, we would like to respond by explaining that we are a true garden resort. Your visit came right in the late spring when our gardens are brimming with life--some of which is insect life. When guests travel through our four acres of lush gardens, sometimes these little creatures find their way inside our rooms. We do not use harmful insecticides or pesticides to kill these insects for the benefit of keeping our garden an organic sanctuary. Unfortunately, this sometimes means having to evacuate the occasional bug. This situation may have been exacerbated by the fact that your Bungalow opens up right into the gardens. If any guests in the future are concerned with this, our front desk staff is more than happy to be on bug duty : ) or better yet, recommend an interior room which is better insulated from garden life by access through the lobby.

We appreciate your feedback of our sister property the Ashland Springs Hotel. Found downtown Ashland in the center of town, it sounds like this would be a much better fit for your needs. We are happy to be able to offer guests differing experiences at all of our sister properties: Ashland Springs Hotel, Ashland Hills Hotel, and the Inn at The Commons in Medford, Oregon. We hope that you will continue to stay with us at the property that is able to provide you the best possible experience for you.

We would encourage future guests reading this post to look at pictures of our gardens on our website, and read other comments from our guests. We have a dedicated gardening team, whose sole mission it is to create a beautiful garden oasis for which our guests can relax and immerse themselves in. It is richly diverse with plant and animal life, while still providing clear pathways for our guests to move about our gardens and access features such as the breakfast room, the ice machine, and our soon to be opened outdoor pool and jaccuzzi. We hope you take a look and decide for yourselves if Lithia Springs Resort is the right spot for you!

Thank you for your feedback.
Warm Regards,

This is a great resort. We stayed in a bungalow room which has a separate living area with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub with hot springs pumped into the room. The grounds are beautiful with nice landscape, outdoor areas, walkways, a koi pond, tables, chairs, and a future pool and spa now being constructed. The price for us included a hot breakfast every day and a tea with cookies, scones, and fruit in the afternoon. The front desk was so helpful, friendly, gave us restaurant menus, and make reservations for us at places we wanted to go.

Room Tip: Stay in a bungalow room where you only share one wall and it is single story.

A very relaxing resort, nestled in mountainous wine country. The spacious cottages offer privacy and gorgeous views of the property. The staff was very accommodating. Sitting in a gazebo watching the sun rise above the mountains was beautiful. The property offers many outside areas to sit and relax.

My family and I stay at Lithia Springs Resort everytime we come to Ashland and we have always recieved the best customer service from Alder and the entire front desk staff. Alder always goes out of her way to make sure that all of our questions are answered and that we are fully taken care of from start to finish. We love the Spa Bungalows and the breakfast is always delicious.
