“Rest And Relax At A Quiet Country House”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

This was our second stay with Country Willows and the great gets better.

What has changed since our last visit: new siding and insulation for the main house retains the old house look while improving guest comfort, a combination of stone and brick pavers for the walk ways add to the beauty and walking comfort, new goslings imported from California entertain guests and compete with Chef Daniel for greens from the herb garden.

What has not changed: Innkeeper Kara's warmth and hospitality and Chef Daniel's creative menu. His scones were so light they seemed to float off the serving plate to our hands.

This visit we stayed in the Cottage which is a few feet from the main house and is very quiet which is a good choice for light sleepers.

This is our favorite place to stay for the beauty, tranquility, and hospitality.

Room Tip: The Cottage is physically separate so it is quieter.

My daughter and I travelled through Ashland on our way to CA. after her graduation from college in Salem. We had a truck full of stuff that was exposed in the open bed in the back. After explaining our situation to Kara she accommodated us by putting us up in the hayloft at the back of the property where the truck was safe and secure. She also gave us quite a deal. The room was fabulous and my daughter had the loft which gave her some privacy. After a wonderful evening with a soak in the jacuzzi tub, we had the most amazing breakfast. We then had a nice hike out into the woods and a trip to the quaint town to catch a play. We had such a wonderful experience we decided to extend our stay to one more night. I would have to say that this was probably one of my favorite B and B's I've ever stayed in. Kara is truly a gem.

My wife and I stayed here en route to a California destination so I initially chose it for convenience and value; what a surprise find! Even though we were late, Kara was amazingly accommodating and upgraded us to the Sunrise Suite. It was really a nicely appointed suite with a king bed, sitting area, overlooking a wooded area. The two person tub was calling our name so we quickly headed into town to Standing Stone Brewery thinking we'd grab a bite and come back to enjoy a soak. We loved the brewery, met some great people, spent more time than we thought, and THEN came back for a much needed soak. It was quiet, romantic and super comfortable. Morning brought us to the breakfast area and yet another fantastic treat; it was simply delicious and not your standard breakfast fare. Coffee and tea were really good, and the food was incredible. We planned this as a pass through but are so excited about the find, we're planning to make it a destination next year!

Room Tip: The Sunrise Suite is for romance!

We needed a place to stay on our road trip between Napa and Williamette Valley. This was a wonderful choice, first, the innkeeper upgraded our room to a private cottage as she wasn't full that night. I love it when an innkeeper is willing to upgrade , so many are not! Breakfast was fantastic, service impeccable, the room was perfect (the Cottage). Ashland is a cute little town and would have loved to spend more time at the inn!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in the Pine Ridge suite to celebrate the Anniversary of our first date 1 year ago. We wanted to stay somewhere beautiful and special. I wanted a room with a jacuzzi and a fireplace and we got all of that and a whole lot more! We ended up being the only guests at the Inn on the night of our stay so we felt extra special! lol We felt very comfortable here and the Innkeeper, Daniel made us feel welcome, but respected our privacy as well. Before we left to explore town and have dinner, we noticed that the toilet would not flush. It was not a problem for us, but we immediately called and let them know that it was not working and that we would be gone for awhile if they wanted to check on it while we were gone. We returned about 4 hours later and of course the problem with the water had been fixed AND the owners/innkeeper had left a very nice note along with a bottle of wine and a box of delicious chocolates! To be honest it did not incovenience us at all and I was very touched by the nice gesture. The room was just as pictured on the website and the bed was very comfortable. We of course had the whole beautiful dining room to ourselves for breakfast the next morning and it was so cozy! The fireplace was flickering and the mountains had gotten a light dusting of snow the night before so the view was just breathtaking. Breakfast was to die for........from the combo of blood oranges and mandarins drizzled with a honey ginger syrup.....to the most unique and flavorful omelet we have ever had filled with carmelized sweet potatoes, onions, capers and gruyere cheese!!!! Every bite was just bursting with flavor and my mouth is watering just thinking about it right now! Cannot wait to go back and I HIGHLY recommend the Country Willows Inn 100% *****5 Stars......would rate higher if I could!

Room Tip: The Pine Lodge Suite is beautiful.....fireplace in the living room, but can be seen from the bed. L...

Each family group reserved a room, then we all gathered in Pine Ridge to read and play games during the day. Breakfast was outstanding. Each day the rustic coffee bar was set up, followed by fantastic cuisine-the eggs with goat cheese over roasted vegetables and Black Forest ham was to die for. Access to the Creek to Coast trail system was easy and we got in a 5 mile hike. The small kitchenettes gave us the flexibility to make light lunches and snacks. We had the bunk room, pine ridge, hayloft and one room in the main house. Next year I think it would be fun to reserve sunrise and occupy the whole barn! Absolutely delightful weekend, we will be back. Thank you Daniel for your good care...

Room Tip: The Pine Ridge suite was the perfect gathering place for our family holiday. We enjoyed breakfast t...

Visiting family in Ashland, OR--no better place to stay - especially around Christmas time--very comfortable and luxurious accommodations, gourmet breakfasts, wonderful relaxations options, and an innkeeper/chef/concierge, Daniel, who loves his work, will go out of the way for any request--including having other family members in town join you for breakfast. Very reasonable prices, especially if visiting local family member(s), and possible complimentary upgrade on lodging if relatively low vacancy!! Owners Dan and Kara are also very gracious and communicate well by email or phone. The place is well-maintained, tastefully appointed, and convenient!

Room Tip: We (me and spouse) had a suite with a loft--could sleep a kid or two up there, we used it as an exer...
