Akron PA. is a town that reminds me of Tom Waits singing about Putnam County..."Things were always kind of quiet in Putnam County..." Even though this town is nowhere near Putnam County except in spirit. Anyway, this is one of the few restaurants in Akron here in the quiet heart of Amish Country. It has an odd liquor thing going in that you can order beer (pretty good variety) but if you want wine or other booze you need to byob.
The decor is pretty neat. Its like sitting in a library with a large back row of books on shelves and pictures of the founding family. None of the books are rare or valuable and alas none of the food is memorable either. We sampled the salads and various pasta dishes and all seemed like they could have used a litle more seasoning, better ingredients and more attention. Service was fine and the place hit the spot for what we needed at the time. I would not go back there. Instead I'd head for the "big town" of Ephrata ( Irony intentional) for my vittles.
