We just got back from our 7th or 8th stay at the Willcox and we already want to go back. If you need a break from the kids I highly recommend you stay one night if not a weekend at the Willcox. If it's Fall or Winter get a room with a fireplace and in the spring or summer try the Roosevelt Suite or The Churchill Suite and enjoy the terraces.

The wife and I have hit the spa a couple of times and they are excellent at massaging away your stress. Donna has gotten a couple of Mani/Pedi's from the spa as well and she really liked it because she says it lasted a long time.

The pool is awesome during the summertime and you will feel like you are at a resort when they bring you drinks.

The beds are so good we have replicated them at our home from the featherbeds to the duvet and pillows. Everyone else must have done this because I noticed they are selling signature Willcox bedding stuff in the book now.

Matt the concierge will take care of all of your needs and oftentimes Shannon the owner will be working the front desk and she will bend over backwards for you as well.

Thanks again to Shannon, Matt, and the rest of the staff and we will see y'all in the summer if not sooner.

Room Tip: Get the eggs benedict for room service breakfast or stay for the Sunday Brunch.

This lovely property in the heart of Aiken, South Carolina is well-prepared for the discerning guest. From arrival to departure, this Inn is pleasing. The staff is very personable, the guest room is inviting, the dining staff is very attentive and the evening meal was delicious. With my preference being a full, gourmet breakfast, the continental fare did not meet my expectation of such a wonderful Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the center of the building.

There really are no words to adequately describe this wonderful hotel. Grace, charm, service - all the accolades one can think of. You truly do feel like you are at home here at the Willcox! Staff was outstanding and treat you like you are royalty and the only one staying there. Good job Willcox. By the way, do not miss eating at the restaurant. Food and service again is outstanding.

Room Tip: Rooms are all different and very beautifully appointed in old southern charm.

Our most recent stay, but certainly not our only or by no means our last, simply must be memorialized for others to know. The Willcox is a unique world class boutique hotel located in the horse town of Aiken. It's regal beauty is authentic, thus true to form in all aspects from architecture to attention to detail to supreme service to the finest of dining. Down filled four poster beds with the finest of linens await a tired body and mind. Thoughtful and knowledgeable staff anticipating your every need and there to assist you with all aspects of your visit. The hushed understated elegance just oozes from every corner of this Hotel. Simply wish we could live there...

Room Tip: All are wonderful, but I would recommend the second floor front facing.

We received the best service ever at this hotel. The employees speak to you each time you enter. They are polite and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and immaculate. Our room was huge and comfortable. Loved the pool, a quiet get away. Old fashioned elegance with modern conveniences. Read about the history of this grant hotel.

We just got back from a four-day stay at The Willcox for a wedding. It had been nicely restored with a beautiful old-style wood paneled lobby, and the staff was very courteous. You really got a sense of being in the South. The back pool was very pretty - although the water was cold, it felt great on a hot day. Our only nitpick was the noise - church bells bonging at 6 AM, followed by dumpster emptying with a huge "clang", tons of bottles being thrown out and someone chainsawing at 8 AM. Also because of the layout, the dumpsters are right in back of the pool so occasionally you'd get a whiff of funk from there. Otherwise it was a great stay - bed was super comfortable, internet was free (a welcome change) and a nice lobby bar. Definitely worth a stay!

Room Tip: ours faced the rear and was noisy - perhaps ask one facing the front of the hotel, or specify you wa...

Our check-in was a breeze and we had very good service, thanks Kelly! We were showed to our room and got settled in. The room was beautiful and had all the amenities: nice views of the trees, large comfy bed, iron/ironing board, bathtub/shower, hairdryer, mini fridge, snacks (for an extra fee), desk, two lounge chairs, and closet with a small safe. With our stay was continental breakfast, which was very nice (muffins, bread, eggs, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee) and filled us up for the day. The hotel does have a restaurant that serves brunch, lunch and dinner (I would recommend making dinner reservations, as the restaurant was very busy. The front desk can make this while your checking-in).

Hotel Activities:
You can use the hotel's bikes to tour downtown Aiken. They have a very nice pool and lounge area outside. Inside, the hotel has a bar and lounge, great for an afternoon or evening drink. On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Sunday brunch they have pianist or jazz. There is also the front porch with rockers for lounging around. We didn't use the spa so I can't recommend it but it looked very nice and the Inn also has an exercise room with a few pieces of exercise equipment and weights. The best part of the Willcox was the restaurant. Excellent service, food and drinks!

Around the area:
-Downtown shopping and dinning are within a short walk
-Hopeland Gardens, Aiken State Park, Carolina Bay Reserve (not sure what this is but has a pond, a few picnic tables and a trail. Use to have a rock climbing wall.) and a few other parks
-Two museums-Historical and Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Aiken County Library
-Equestrian activities
-Walking around the area is very nice...to see the beautiful homes and horses. And everyone is very friendly. There is also a nice walking track and play ground area about 5 minutes from the Willcox.
-Augusta is not far and Columbia is about a 45 minute drive

The Willcox is a wonderful hotel in Aiken. We couldn't have asked for anything better, the room, staff and service were excellent. I would recommend it for any occasion and anyone (kids are welcome).

Room Tip: I think all rooms have a good view, some of trees, others of the pool. You can pay extra to have a...
