This hotel is pretty unassuming but I found it to be an excellent stay for my visit to Aiken. Centrally located outside of the downtown area. If you are visiting friends and have no need to head into downtown for the nightlife, this is for you. Close to everything from shopping to restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: Ask to be placed away from front of building near fast-food restaurants and pool.

First, we don't stay at Sleep Inns because we've previously found them to be poorly run and poorly maintained second or third rate properties. This stated, someone else booked into this property and were we surprised.....it's great! It's clean, very well maintained and everybody on the staff is super. The rooms are large, modern and well equipped. Only in the large shower stall could you tell that the property wasn't newly constructed. If every Sleep Inn was like this we would never stay at another brand or chain.

Here's the skinny on the rooms: large fridge, in-room safe, flat screen TV, kind bed in our room, lounge chair, upscale desk and chair, wardrobe, wine/beer/popcorn/cookies at night, nice breakfast selections in the morning, convenient parking, good location off of a major city road but quiet, pool. We'll go out of our way to stay here again.

Room Tip: To get a good room stay at this hotel.

My husband & I needed a safe & convenient room near the church & reception for a wedding in Aiken. The Sleep Inn was in perfect proximity for us but was enhanced by the across the street from the mall location! The breakfast nook was wonderful and the staff was absolutely superb! Housekeeping and Front desk personnel (night & day shift!) were helpful, courteous, and congenial. I would definitely stay again for all these reasons; the value received was worth the cost paid.

Room Tip: We were near the elevator & the soda machine and still couldn't hear a thing! Very quiet.

Stayed 4 nights here last week while visiting family. Hotel was clean and bed was very comfy. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating!! Thanks! Keep up the excellent work! Breakfast met our needs with variety of hot and cold food items! Hotel location was great, easy access, and lots of good restaurants close by (few even within walking distance). All our needs were taken care of while staying at this hotel.

My husband and I went down for a friends anniversary celebration I always research hotels before booking a room and the hotel lived up to my expectations. Donna had previously assisted me with booking a room and she was there when we checked in. The room was clean the bed was comfy, my husband wants to get the pillows. He loved the pillows. Also the breakfast was good and the grounds were really nice. If we had stayed longer we would have been able to enjoy a discount at Charley O's and had access to Golds Gym. Also some really nice places to eat in the area and it's not far from Historic Aiken. The only thing that I can offer for improvement to the hotel would be to clean the carpet in the elevators and some of the hallways. Looks like the carpet is relatively new but you could not tell since it looked kind of worn.

Room Tip: The hotel was basically quiet during our stay.

Nothing overly fancy. Just a quiet, comfortable stay. The staff is great! The breakfast has a little to be desired. Bacon was good, but the eggs tasted like powdered ones. Good sized refrigerator and a microwave in the room was a plus.

Room Tip: The rooms ending in th 20's on each floor are near the elevators.

Second place? The height of optimism! The only plus sides are the front desk staff. (Especially, the young lady on the overnight shift Friday night/Saturday Morning. The Saturday daytime and Sunday morning desk staff are also good) and the breakfast. OTOH, the down sides are numerous. First, this place is tough to find at night while driving safely. Second, the TV reception was terrible. (Room 103) The picture was the snowiest I'd seen in ages in any hotel. Third, whomever works overnight on Saturday nights needs to "walk the hall" regarding things like parties, loud TV's, etc. Most of us who stay in motels are there to sleep, Having stayed in Aiken many times over the years, I know that the locals go to the motels to "party". (I'm being charitable and polite...) The music, talking and TV were joined by people knocking on my room door overnight! This went on from about 1:00 AM and finally died-out by 2:30 AM. When I mentioned the noise on checking out Sunday morning, the only response was "sorry... there was a party in 102"... Pity they didn't try to do anything about it when the party was going on! Had it not been for the thin walls, I would've called and complained about the noise. Perhaps to Aiken DPS as it seemed the hotel was unable (unwilling?) to do anything about it. The sad part is, until the last night, this would've been a 4-star review. However, I realize that the hotels in Aiken have to cater to the locals as opposed to the visitors, as that is their marketplace and are thus reluctant to anger their "regular customers". However, I chose this motel based on its TripAdvisor rating and reviews. Thus, I'll be more careful in the future.

Room Tip: Pick a room at any other hotel or motel, Just not this one!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us your experience at our hotel. It is guests like you that give us the information we need to improve. It was kind of you to compliment our staff and our breakfast.

We apologize for the poor TV reception and maintenance has been notified of the problem. There is just no excuse for our lack of attention on the night of the disturbance. Your comments have been shared with our staff and we are sincerely sorry for your experience. We want you to know that this was an exception and not normally what goes on at the Sleep Inn of Aiken.

Please consider visiting us again and allowing us the opportunity to show our better side.
