Combo restaurants are usually mediocre at best, but this place works. The founder is from New Mexico, which has better Mexican food than Mexico. He also is said to love the far east, especially Japan. Hence, the combo.
The Asparagus Tempura is excellent, as many reviewers have noted. The tempura is a little heavy for my taste, but much lighter than local fried fare.
Asian dumplings, potstickers right on. Wish they would pan sauté them, rather than deep fry, but keep asking, maybe they will.
The best dish is the Tilapia tacos. Order them grilled, not fried. Enough for two or even three people, and lunch the next day.
Nice wine list . The Sauvignon blanc was excellent.
Go early. The place is small and loud. My only complaint, besides the noise, is the outdoor seating. It is in dyer need of an upgrade.
