“Excellent value for authentic South Carolina BBQ”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

I have loved some incarnation of Duke's for as long as I can remember. Starting with the one in Orangeburg, SC, and the one in Walterboro, SC, and the one in Aiken is just as delicious. For $20, all you can eat pulled pork bbq with mustard sauce, hash and rice, fried chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, black eyed peas, hushpuppies, potato salad, banana pudding and cobbler. You can't beat them! The atmosphere is very homey and casual, mix-matched chairs and tables, but that's what's great about this place. You feel right at home, and you will NOT leave hungry. My only complaint is that they are not open more nights during the week, or that late. If you get there after 7pm, be prepared to be the last ones in the restaurant with the crew cleaning up around you, but even then, you will never feel rushed or anything less than a valued customer.

“Excellent BBQ”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

We have been going to Dukes for several years. It is a typical Southern BBQ restaurant; nothing to look at on the outside, but then folks are coming here for the food, not the ambiance. It is a buffet restaurant. You pay for your meal, then head to the buffet. The buffet has multiple meat choices: brunswick stew, pulled pork, BBQ ribs, & fried chicken. There are also a dozen or so vegetables: okra & tomatoes, corn, corn on the cob, lima beans, cabbage, blackeye peas, rice, squash casserole, broccoli casserole, candied yams, fried okra, potato salad, cole slaw, hush puppies, etc, etc. Dessert choices are peach cobbler, banana pudding, or soft serve vanilla ice cream. Drink choices are limited: only sweet tea, plain tea, or pink lemonade. There are several BBQ sauces to choose from including both tomato & mustard based varieties. If you are looking for Southern BBQ at its best, this is the place.

“Best BBQ Around”
Reviewed 21 December 2012 via mobile

To me this is the best BBQ in the area. Love the pulled pork with the mild sauce! As much as I love the BBQ, the sides are the standout here. There are a lot to choose from and I've enjoyed them all. The people here are very friendly as well. It is a great value and I highly recommend!
