My wife and I are in Aiken, from England, to visit our son and his family. Yesterday we had a family meal here. As this is a very popular restaurant, we had to wait for a table and spent the time admiring the decor and listening to the pianist on the grand piano. We all had something different and the food and service were excellent. Our waiter was attentive but not over familiar.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and intend to return.

We just love Aiken, South Carolina. The Willcox is a little like "The Shining" meets Mayberry. It is completely surreal, but also a fantastic, laid-back evening. Our meal was exceptional. Our waiter was cordial, knowledgeable and on queue. The prices were reasonable. The menu was varied enough to please just about anybody. The wine list had one of my slightly high-end favorite Cabs at a fair price too.

The atmosphere is memorable - warm, historic and stately. There seemed to be quite a few regulars in attendance too - all very nice people.

We look forward to returning to the Willcox Restaurant soon. It was like being hand-dipped in Southern charm - with a dinner experience on top.

This is a favorite spot of ours to hit after dinner. IT's great just to sit in their lobby, at the bar, or to take a drink outside on the porch and sit in a rocker. We will definitely get there for dinner at some point, I understand it is very good.

The historic charm of The Willcox Hotel should be enough to get you in the door. After all, what's good enough for FDR, WInston Churchill & the Vanderbilts, should make you want to see this famous hotel built in the late 19th century for Aiken's Winter Colony folks during the Gilded Age. Now, in the 21st century, standards for this fine hotel remain high. Whether for lunch or dinner, the dining room at The Willcox offers an amazing dining experience. The wine cellar and bar offer an extensive array. Soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees and (don't miss!) desserts are graciously served in this very UN-stuffy environment. Fine food, friendly staff, great prices -- it just doesn't get any better in Aiken. I promise you will enjoy your meal!

The Willcox is a wonderful historical hotel with a delightful restaurant for lunch. In fact, it's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion which is just what we did in April as 3 friends all had birthdays that month. The food is well prepared and beautifully presented. The dining area is understated elegance.
