Description: The Century Bar & Grill offers a distinctive menu infused with tradition as well as the forward motion of the modern age. We have crafted the Century dining experience with a variety of flavors: relax in the comfortable and classic Rio Grande Room, indulge a New York mood at our Chef's Tables with a view on the open kitchen, or savor outdoor dining in the Hotel courtyard under West Texas skies in a delightful high-desert climate. The beautifully designed bar, airy yet intimate, serves superb locally brewed beer from Big Bend Brewery as well as unique cocktails. A favorite of locals, The Century Bar & Grill guarantees anyone visiting the Big Bend a friendly Texas welcome with casual elegance, great food, and good drinks.

“Old Time Hotel Restaurant”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

Located in the remodeled Holland Hotel, the Century Bar and Grill looks just as it did 100 years ago, and is worth a visit just to see the décor. Service and food are top notch and of the best in Alpine. There is a courtyard one can dine in if it is not too hot.

The prices for food is among the highest in Alpine so be prepared. The 1lb $32 Rib eye is the best. Way more than I can eat, if you ask the waiter they will split the steak which makes the meal a lot less expensive.

While there, be sure to tour the Hotel lobby. If you ask the front desk, they will let you visit a room to see the way it was a long time ago in a fine hotel.

“Better than last time, but not great”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

The Bar and Drinks were really good, our restaurant server was great she was very attentive and helpful, my Steak was pretty good even though the chef had to ask how I wanted the "Medium Rare" Steak I ordered, to be cooked, but then there is the issue of my wife's Burger, it was full of GRISTLE, she even said it may have been the worst ground meat she had ever tried to eat.

I'm sure we will give The Century another chance, but this trip was defiantly not up to par.

“Big city quality in Alpine”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

I was at dinner with a few friends and we all selected options around the menu and every plate was completed. The only item no one seemed to like was the bread so I would not waste the calories when you are going to eat everything else you are served.

“Food, service, ambience - you get it all!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014 via mobile

We had dinner there on a really hot evening (the only guests choosing to sit outside, that's how you can tell tourists apart :-) and were completely satisfied. Service was super-friendly, the food was all freshly cooked, the steak medium-rare as ordered and the local beers tasted very good.
Considering the quality and quantity, the price is very reasonable.
