Description: The original Reata Restaurant located in the scenic Davis Mountains of west Texas offers the same fine dining and Legendary Texas Cuisine you can find at the Fort Worth location. Alpine, home to Sul Ross State University is near Texas tourist destination Big Bend National Park and the towns of Marathon, Fort Davis and Lajitas. Alpine is also a short drive from Marfa, Texas renowned both for the mysterious Marfa Lights and Donald Judd’s Chinati Foundation. Reata, named after the legendary ranch in the James Dean classic movie, “Giant”, which was filmed in nearby Marfa, boasts the same high quality Southwestern dining you can find in Fort Worth. This is not food for the faint of heart, from Chicken Fried Steak to Calf Fries or the Pepper Crusted Tenderloin and Cowboy Rib Eye Steak, this is a dining experience not to miss. Today, Reata Alpine remains a true destination restaurant, attracting loyal diners from miles beyond the charming converted farmhouse where our Legendary Texas Cuisine was born.

The wife I had dinner at The Reata recently, and as always the food was outstanding and the service was first rate as well. We have eaten at Reata several times over the past several years and not once have we come away hungry or disappointed. Arguablly The Best Steaks in West Texas, they also have a great Bar that serves some really outstanding Adult Beverages. If you find self in West Texas, The Big Bend Area or you just want an awesome meal, head to Alpine and Reata Restaurant you won't regret it.

We were lucky enough to eat in this restaurant three times. My husband ordered the Chili Rellano and raved about it. I had the huge Chicken fried steak that was very good. Twice I had these amazing enchillada's. They were sour cream chicken and the best I have every eaten.

We had a great dinner at Reata while we were staying in nearby Marfa. The 30-minute drive was more than worth it. I had the carne asada and cheese enchiladas and my wife had beef tamales. Both were well-prepared and presented, and were delicious, as were the starters. The quantities were so large as to be intimidating so the left-overs were ample but didn't travel well, we learned later. Service was attentive and friendly. Altogether, an excellent meal. Prices were quite reasonable for a restaurant of this quality. Highly recommended but come with an appetite.

My son recently graduated from Sul Ross in Alpine. There were fourteen of us who celebrated at Reata and enjoyed everything about it. I had contacted the restaurant earlier for reservations and everyone was helpful, professional, and courteous. When our large group arrived, we were immediately seated and served our drinks. Our waitress, Ana, was delightful and had our appetizers, entrees, and desserts out in a timely manner and did an excellent job of keeping straight the many different food and drink orders. Everyone raved about the food and all were impressed with the quality and variety of the menu offerings. We never felt rushed and had a memorable family evening, enhanced by great food and service. Thank you, Reata!
