Alpine is a nice little town on the way to and from Big Bend. And this hotel seemed to best option. Unfortunately we had a couple of issues.
We booked a deluxe double room at the back of the hotel.
Man at the reception desk not very friendly. First room had a very dirty floor. Amazing. Second room ok but horrible view on the back.
Great lounge and very friendy staff at the bar.
No breakfast yet at the hotel. We received a voucher for Bread&Breakfast: excellent place.
The other issue is that they charged us twice the amount of the room. A lot of mails (much of then without answer) and finally a phone call from Belgium to get things settled. Strange experience. I suppose we had bad luck.
About the noise and the trains: we slept very well without earplugs.
