Quite a good hotel, a nice surprise out in the dryland where there's little competition. The structure is beautiful inside. Our room was very spacious, the bed perfect. Front desk folks and housekeeping folks are young, earnest and competent. Hotel is directly across the street from the Amtrac station - next time, we'll probably come by train. Everyone likes the bar, and the dinner-only restaurant gets high marks. Breakfast - not so much. The "fresh baked" scones and rolls are not fully defrosted and remain wet, gummy. However, Alpine has a number of nice eating places, including several open for early HOT breakfasts. One of 'em is only a few steps from the front door of the hotel.
The Holland has a good reputation - and deserves it.More
