We stopped in Amarillo on our way to Red River NM. We just needed a clean place to sleep with a breakfast and no frills. That is exactly what we got. Decor needs updating but it was clean and breakfast was hot and satisfying.
Some other guests had some items stolen out of the back of their truck so don't leave any thing unsecured in the vehicle.
They brought in a a comfortable roll away for an additional $10 since we have 3 kids.
Don't go in expecting the Marriott or the Hilton and you will be pleased.

This Super 8 is located on the outskirts of Amarillo, on the east side. There isn't too much around it w/ the exception of the Big Texan Steak Ranch. It's easy enough to find, right on I-40 but I wouldn't recommend it. It's fairly clean, like posters before me have said, it does have a funky smell but I think it's more old building than anything. The person at check in was nice enough, it went fairly quick. The rooms were really small and they were DARK. It was awful trying to get adequate light. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work and the water pressure in the shower sucks. We slept ok though, it was suprisingly quiet. I would say pass, there is better out there.

Moved from Washington state to South Carolina... Stayed in many hotels. Pics do NOT match conditions of hotel. It has very unpleasant odors, and even when booked and paid for in advance they charge you more for the room booked then quoted. Staff is nice until you try to check in, then VERY RUDE! Save your self the trouble and stay at the quality inn down th eroad. Very nice and pleasent to deal with as well as cheaper. Pet friendly too!

Depends what you are seeking here. If this is a one-night stopover, as it was for us, this is not a bad place to spend the night, especially for the price. If you are looking for a beautiful and ambient hotel room, this is not for you.

Convenient location right off I-40, very friendly staff, Texas-shaped waffles for breakfast.

The room had a bit of a mildew smell, but was clean. Beds and pillows were fine and basic.

If you are used to Holiday Inns and Comfort Inns and so on, you may be disappointed by the no frills offered. But if you are happy to save some money and sleep in a decent, albeit basic place, this is a good stop.

We have stayed at Super 8 motels for most of our cross country trip. For the rate, this motel was a bit of a disappointment. The property is in the process of a remodel/upgrade, which is a good thing. Room had two doubles as opposed to a king which effected the quality of sleep, along with a noisy A/C unit and the loud party in the ballroom at the motel across the parking lot. Breakfast was good, especially the Texas-shaped waffles. The access to the motel is a bit unusual as well due to the one-way frontage road loop throughout central Amarillo.

Very clean inside & out with convenient access to I-40. Inside doors are a plus for females traveling alone. Extremely friendly staff. The price is affordable with $5/pet addt'l fee. Comfortable bed & the clerk was kind enough to put me in a room conveniently located near an exit that I used to take the dogs out. Comfortable beds, quiet corridors. Quick internet access & decent breakfast in lobby. Probably not the best location for extended visits in Amarillo if wanting to sight see.

After 14 days on the road we know what clean and fresh really means. This place was really nice and it was just as past reviews advertised....great place at a great price in a central part of Amarillo. The staff was quite helpful and very courteous, and the lobby smelled like a new property. The room we had was quite comfortable and everything was in good shape. The staff let me use one of their computer cables as the facility uses a network connection. I had forgotten to bring one.
