We selected Staybridge as the prefered accommodations for out-of-town guests for a large wedding. We block a very large number of rooms, for Friday & Saturday nights, six months in advanced. A few of us tried to make reservations (within the block of rooms) for arrival on Thursday Evening but the clerk had no idea how to do that. We ended up with a reservation for Thursday evening and a different one for Friday and Saturday evening. My reservations were for two rooms for each night.
Upon arrival and checking in extremely late in the evening, we found one of rooms already occupied - a surprise we didn't need! The clerk on duty swore no one was in the room and wasn't very willing to believe us since the computer showed the room empty. We finally persuaded him to call the room to confirm. He was surprised but never pursued who was in the room. We finally received a new room.
On Friday our keys no longer worked in any of the rooms. Upon checking at the desk they indicated we had only one night reservation. We finally resolved this issue. On Saturday I started receiving calls from the desk again asking why we hadn't check out yet (we were on our way to the wedding!)
With an agreement with management, we provided gift bags for all wedding guests staying at the hotel. We even provided a specific list of guests. Out of 20+ gift bags (one for each room) only two were graciously handed out. We had inform our wedding guests they had gifts at teh desk and to ask for them. By Saturday evening we still had four rooms of guests who had not received their gifts.
Let's talk about breakfast. Very poorly maintained, and it didn't matter whether it was Friday morning (typically a light day) or Saturday & Sunday mornings. Five coffee containers with typically only one with coffee in it. One could have either scrambled eggs or sausage, but never at the same time because the serving containers never the both at the same time. Juice dispenser - the apple juice dispenser was dispensing cranapple juice (I think that's what it was). The facility should know almost exactly how many guests are in-house and how many would be attending breakfast. (unless of course they have lots of folks staying with reservations like in our first room).
Response to noise - We know the desk received multiple calls from multiple rooms about several guests in specific rooms that were EXTREMELY loud. The noise never subsided.
Cleanliness - Overall the rooms were clean and pleasant - until we pulled out the additional linens for the sofa. The sheets had appear to have been folded and placed back in the closet by the previous guest. The sheets had urine stains on them!! The pillows were covered in DOG HAIR!! Upon closer inspection the sofa also showed dog hair. We immediately notified the desk and retrieved fresh linens, and placed the soiled linens in the hallway.
Well, maybe if they can get their issues resolved they might be a favorable hotel. The general consensus among ALL of our guests (20+ block rooms) is the Comfort Suites nearby would have been a better selection.
Not pleased with their operation, not pleased with their service, not pleased with their price per room for blocked rooms. For such a special event this was poor experience.
