It's a nightly party. Bring your on cooler and beverages to wait on dusk for the bats to depart from under the bridge for their nightly food hunt.

“If you like a natural show”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

It's a little like watching paint dry, but the bats leave en-mass when they feel the lighting is correct. And seeing ten thousand bats leaving at once is something tourist and Texans alike gather to see.

“Something different”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

Wasn't spectacular because you could hardly see them in the dark. But it's interesting in the sense that it's different. Would I recommend? Well, there are things more interesting to check out in Austin.

“Never saw the big swarm”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

There are definitely many bats, but they seemed to dribble out by the dozens, not thousands. I recommend staying on the trails on either side of the lake/River so as not to have to smell the very strong bat odor from the bridge.

“Bat crazy!!!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Had no idea what to expect from bat watching. Only cost was $5 to park at a close spot and was pretty interesting to see!
