Room was spacious and spotless. There was an electrical outlet by the bedside stand to plug in my cell phone. Many hotels do not have this and I need to unplug something else. Wi-fi worked great. Best of all the staff were all friendly, professional and helpful.
Staff were attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming.
Room was spacious, clean, well furnished and appointed.
I liked: small but unintimidating gym, yummy free breakfasts, gorgeous pool and hot tub, free wifi in room as well as an internet PC in the lobby, easy access to room either by lift or stairs, laundry (5 quarters per wash/dry), vending machines around every corner, free parking.
I didn't like: location necessitates a car, not much within walking distance. Can be noisy if people decide to use the pool/hot tub at night. A group of people did just that at 1am when we were there!
Overall, very comfortable and great value for money. Paige at the front desk was lovely :)
Spent Jan 11th & 12th at the LQ, Mopac North, as we were helping my stepson on his move from Austin to Dallas. First night we enjoyed the hottub ... 2nd night was too cold outside. The place was one of the better LQ's we've stayed at, and it was nice to get an upgraded room. (We are now LQ Rewards Elite members.)
Only thing negative that I can say is that the free breakfasts were not on par ... at least selection wise ... with the breakfasts offered at other hotels.
We were very happy with our stay. Our room was spacious and clean. It seemed like the hotel was always close to where we were going!
Breakfast was good. And theTexas-shaped waffles are always a hit with the kids! Yum!
We stayed here for one night to prep for the Austin Livestrong Challenge. Obviously, with such a big event, they raised the room rates. The rooms were not worthy of of their regular price, much less the gouging price. No wonder we were able to get a last minute room. It is an older hotel.
The walls of the room and the bathroom doors were visibly dirty. Not just dirt from a brush of a muddy boot or anything, but from several months of grungy, grimy hands/body parts. The smell of the whole hotel in general was a bit musty and "used". It set a negative tone for me.
The nightstand still had drink rings on it from a previous tenants leaky cup. The corners of the bathroom floor harbored a lot of hair. That kind of grossed me out.
On a good note, the front desk personnel was friendly, and the bed was pretty comfortable.
We will not stay here again, nor will we recommend this hotel until some upgrades have been made.
