We selected Habitat Suites due to the two bedroom design. We were in Austin for just a few days to help our daughter find an apartment before she starts Law School at UT this fall. The layout was perfect for us. Our daughter was upstairs with her own bathroom and queen bedroom, while we were downstairs with a king bed and our own bathroom. The bedroom doors allowed me to stay up late without disturbing the rest of my family. The quiet central AC was a welcome luxury, given Austin's heat in July. The full size fridge and kitchen made leftovers easy. The continental breakfasts were quite good. The grounds were lushly landscaped a bit of an oasis from Austin's heat. The location was within easy reach of the UT campus and also provided ready access to I-35 to get to the rest of the city. If we had any complaint, the TVs in the rooms were small and had poor reception. I resorted to watching a movie on my iPad instead of suffering with the poor reception. We will be definitely be back when we come to Austin to visit our daughter. We just won't plan on watching any TV.

Thank you for your review of our hotel. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Currently we are working on getting our TV's upgraded, as we are aware that it is time to replace them.

We look forward to your next stay!

My husband I booked a room here for our 4 year anniversary. I was nervous that the hotel wouldn't be exactly like the website but I was pleasantly suprised! This hotel is beautiful and peaceful plus they have a great breakfast buffet and an awesome happy hour. The staff is extremely friendly and they make you feel right at home. This is the only hotel we will ever stay at in Austin that's for sure!!!:-)...I'm totally hooked on Habitat Suites!!!:-)

Room Tip: Any room you get will be awesome!!!...There are no bad suites!

If you are looking for a fancy hotel, then this is not the place for you. Book the Driskill! Yes, there are a few "scratch and dents" in the place, BUT, overall it is worth the price you pay. Love how eco-friendly it is, the staff is very nice, and you can't beat the free happy hour, snacks, and hot breakfast every day! It is very clean and quiet. Yes, the location is not the greatest, but we stayed 2 nights and did not have any trouble whatsoever. Close enough to downtown.

We loved staying here and would stay again if ever in Austin. Beautiful grounds, quiet rooms, small but nice pool. More of a cottage feel than a motel feel. Great breakfast and happy hour, laundry facilities. Friendly helpful staff.

The only downside is location. No stores or restaurants closer than about a half a mile. Not a good place for walking. About 15 minutes drive from downtown. If you have a car, no problem to find places to eat though.

Rooms were comfortable and clean and spacious but not fancy.

This hotel provided a two bedroom, two bath suite with kitchen for a reasonable price. However, don't stay here based on the edible landscaping or saltwater pool. There wasn't anything in the garden that you could pick and the pool was very small. The room was clean but definitely outdated. The stairs were tough for my elderly mother (they were concrete and the top steps of both flights of stairs were unusually high). The breakfast was very good.

This is a great place to stay and enjoy Austin. Our room was huge with living room and kitchen. The pool and garden area are beautiful. Breakfasts are plentiful and happy hour provides drinks and nibbles each evening. You need a car (and a GPS to find the place) but parking is easy and its a short drive into town. The Eco commitments and practices were great to find - although our towels kept getting changed even though we hung them up which was odd.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool area. It's quite and beautiful

Enjoyed our stay at Habitat. Greatest things were the large size room...we had a spacious 1 bedroom with a king bed, living room and kitchen (apartment like living) and a fantastic free happy hour offered Monday-Saturday (beer/wine and an array of munchies). Plus a full breakfast. The pool area is nice (not a big pool, but enjoyable none the less). Lots of great trees and fruits growing on the property. Free parking and a easy drive into downtown (just 5 miles - shorter if you are headed to UT). Bathrooms in the room could use some updating/repair work but funtioned well for us while we were there. Room was not the updated version that was pictured on website, but again it was functional and spacious (besides we weren't in it much) and the price made this place an excellent value. I would stay here again. Nearby there is a Wells Fargo Bank, a few restaurants around the corner (Korean BBQ, Indian, and a Bikini's...nothing we ate at), and a Galaxy 10 movie theatre...but if you are here visiting...then the Alamo Drafthouse Theatre is the place to see a movie.
