We traveled to Austin to visit with old friends, share vacation photos, and have dinner with them.
Since I am allergic to cats and our friends have 3, we were unable to go to their home . Our room, as I presume all in the hotel, was actually a mini-suite with a roomy seating area with a large sectional sofa, dry bar, refrigerator, desk, and a 42" flat screen TV. Since everyone's photos were digital, we wanted to view them through the large TV screen. Being somewhat technically challenged, it was necessary to request help from the hotel staff. In short order one of the lobby staff came up but was unsuccessful in getting the photos from our laptop to the TV. She made a call to the hotel's chief engineer and he arrived quickly, and within moments had us up and running.
They were both very friendly, and had they not been on duty, we would have enjoyed having them share the wine and snacks that we brought. Serving the drinks and snacks was made easy by the handy dry bar and refrigerator.
The only minor problem we encountered was with our door to the hallway. Each time someone on the floor opened or closed their room doors, our door shook, sounding like someone was knocking.More
