“Standard Embassy Suites”

I stayed at the Arboretum Embassy Suites while the fires were burning in Austin. We were evacuated and were very lucky to get a room. Thank goodness for my diamond status with Hilton, as the staff at the front desk said they were only able to provide rooms for people with Hilton Gold and above status. We felt very lucky to have a place to stay.

Like all Embassy suites, the facility was clean and well taken care of. Because of the fires, I don't think the staff were prepared to be completely full and seemed a little stressed. However, they were always very pleasant and accommodating. Clearly, too much work being placed on too few staff, but totally understandable given the circumstances.

I was a little disappointed with the evening reception though. Most Embassy properties offer more than popcorn and chips as the food for the evening reception.

This was one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at a lot of hotels! We celebrated my husband's retirement w/over a 100 guests. Many of which stayed at the hotel. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The young lady at the front desk was a pleasure. Stefan assisted us with the party and was a sweetheart. Kurt and Valerie set up the party and did a wonderful job! The food was great and our party was a huge success! Thank you Embassy suites/Arboretum for one of the best evenings of our lives!!! We will be back!

I was a recent guest at the Embassy Suites in The Austin Arboretum, and have never been treated so kindly in my life. I come from the North where people are not the most pleasant, but i have to say that Sergio the Front office Supervisor was the true meaning of Southern Hospitality! Seeing his big smile at all times would always make my day. From the quick check in to the warm conversations he was the total package! Every Hotel needs a Sergio!!!!

Our stay at the ES Arboretum was just ok. The service was friendly (especially the bartender at the Manager's reception and the omelet cook), breakfast was good, and the kids liked the swans. But I have to ding it 1.5 stars for the very musty room we got (523 - maybe it was an old smoking room?), and another half star for the hot water being out for several hours when I wanted to take a shower Saturday night. My brother was staying a few doors down in 526, he said his room didn't smell nearly as bad.

Hotel isn't bad, it just isn't great. The breakfast is pretty good, the staff was reasonably friendly, and the rooms were large (studio suites). But the rooms are also feeling a bit outdated. They weren't run down, just felt a little old in terms of their decor. Also, the open lobby kind of makes it noisy in the living area, though the bedroom is quiet.

The workout room is small (a few treadmills and ellipticals, a stationary bike, some dumbells and a bench). The pool is not big enough to exercise in, more of a splashing pool for families.

My primary problem with the hotel was the wifi. I had to work from the hotel, and after having a hard time even getting email to send I ran some speed tests and was getting about 71K down (slightly faster than old modem speeds). I called the front desk and they just said that's how it is when the hotel fills up.

So if space and a good breakfast is what you're after, this might work. If you like a little more updated look and need internet access you may want to look elsewhere.

Just got back from what should have been a 3 night stay at the Embassy but one of our travelers came up sick so we cut the trip short. The hotel itself was very nice and as I stated in the title, quiet! You don't always notice how much you appreciated quiet until someone is ill.
Anyway, the lobby has two beautiful Swans that live in the pond with the goldfish. Our 16 month old grand daughter really liked them. It was a nice touch for this sort of, mainly conference type of hotel. The room itself was a suite with a mini fridge, microwave coffee makers. Even a separate room with a couch and second flat screen tv. The rooms could easily accommodate a family of four. The beds are very comfortable!
Overall the property was located in a fairly nice part of town, shopping and restaurants were within a short walking distance. If you have a chance, go to Buca Di Peppo and eat.
My one knock on this hotel, and this maybe all of the other hotels in this general area too for all I know, is they charge $9.95 for internet. I know internet is not free but I just don't know why they think they need $10 for a day or two worth? Seems like a cash grab to me. Especially when you can stay in some small, way off the beaten track hotel that offers free wireless internet.
They don't charge for parking so I guess that makes up for it.
Other than that I have no issues with this property and would stay here again if the need arises.
