Owner description: If it's in Texas, it must be bigger and better. That is the motto that architects followed with the Capitol Building in Austin. At one time, it was the tallest capitol building in the nation. Others might be taller now, but this is still a beautiful building that shows off many of the natural resources which are so prevalent in Texas, such as limestone and the landscapes.

The Capitol Building is very impressive and well worth a visit. You can walk up to it from the river taking in the famous Sixth Street on the way. The building is fabulous and so full of history.

Took ten visitors from Taiwan through the Capitol building and everyone was impressed. The Senate and House chambers just breathe history and the building is immaculatel maintained. Free parking across the street is a bonus. Whether a Texas resident or just passing thru, a visit is a must.

The capitol is beautiful to see, but what we most enjoyed was the (free) tour with the guide, who did an excellent job. His talk was funny and enthousiastic, he was really proud of "his" capitol and he should be. Job well done.

between the inside the capitol and the grounds itself you could
spend at least 4 hours there you can go inside and see some of the rooms that are used today senate and house chambers it is either a self tour or you could get a guided tour in the capitol
the grounds and monuments on the grounds are wonderful and
interesting austins capitol is bigger than Washington dc you
can picinic it the park walk the dog in the park or just sit and
relax on the benches or bring a blanket to sit on.

Had a good tour guide and visited the house and senate chambers. Lots of historical photos to take in in a short period of time. Go on the weekend when there is less of a crowd
