“Another great stay at the Four Seasons Austin”
Reviewed 1 April 2014

The Four Seasons Austin is by far one of the best Four Seasons hotels in their portfolio. The staff are amazing, so helpful and so kind. If you need extra wake-up calls each morning--which I do--Lupe is the best!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, but the ones with the balconies are the best

This very fine hotel located above the river near to the famous bat bridge on Congress Street does in fact offer very polite and attentive service at every level well worth the price. The standard room may best be described as comfortable if not luxurious. Exciting Second Street is only a short walk as is Congress Street which seems to be city's main focus point. Drinks at the pleasant bar, food are expensive and perhaps not a good value.

I have stayed at many of the Fours Seasons Hotel and Resorts around the world and I can say that this is by far the most disappointing experience.

Let me start of by saying the the service at the hotel was impeccable. The staff are top notch and that was the only part of my stay that was good. This is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

I had several problems with my stay. First, the HVAC system was humming and making strange noises throughout the night. Since this was a one night trip I couldn't be bothered to ask for another room but what a mistake. It made it impossible for me to get the rest I needed.

When I had returned to the hotel after dinner that evening, there was a corporate event outside with a band playing music until 10pm. It was so loud that I wasn't able to do any work or relax because of the distraction. I think the hotel should have offered me the courtesy of letting me know as I would have stayed elsewhere.

The rooms feel run down and the HVAC system in each of the rooms must have been left over since the 80's.

Unfortunatel, I won't be returned when I Austin this summer.

Dear H8CT,
Thank you for sharing a few details regarding your recent experience at Four Seasons Hotel Austin on Trip Advisor. While I'm thrilled that our staff provided excellent service during your stay, I was sorry to hear about the overall disappointment with your visit.

I apologize that you were disturbed by the event on our lawn during the evening. As a hotel, we have parameters in place to monitor noise levels and provide a definitive "shut down" time to ensure that guests such as yourself are not disturbed by these events. Unfortunately, in this case our team failed to follow these parameters. Please rest assured that this has been addressed and will not reoccur in the future. I also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding your guest room HVAC unit and am truly sorry it impacted your stay. I have asked our Engineering team to complete a sweep of the units to ensure any noise issues are addressed immediately.

I would like to ensure that you feel comfortable returning to our hotel in the future, not to mention confident that you will get a restful night of sleep. Should you wish to speak further, I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you personally. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email at your convenience.

Thank you once again for your candid and constructive feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Four Seasons Hotel Austin in the future.

Sincerely,
Rob Hagelberg

Some Four Seasons are too formal or expensive, but this hotel has captured Austin's vibe perfectly. Excellent, professional service, but not too stuffy. It has a relaxed Texas charm, a great bar for cocktails and conversation, and a beautiful view of the lake outback.

Room Tip: River view rooms no doubt cost more but are worth considering.

The Four Seasons is a beautiful hotel located on Town Lake in Austin. The service is impeccable and the decor is warm and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and eager to help you. The food is excellent and the chef is eager to please special requests. ( We are vegans.)

The Four Seasons Austin is beautifully set on Lady Bird Lake. It has the most beautiful views and you would never guess that you are in downtown Austin. It's very serene. The Spa is very serene. Couldn't get any better than this place!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the lake :)
