“Austin Can Be Sketchy and Expensive”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

After spending two miserable and expensive nights at the Sh*#@ton, I was extremely grateful to continue my stay at the Four Seasons in Austin (sold out the first two nights). Both Hotels are downtown and I paid about the same price for each, but the difference is night and day. The Four Seasons is right by the river, a short walk to 6th Street and Rainey Street, but best of all, when you decide to return, you can relax in their lounge bar for a nightcap (as long as it is before midnight - I'm not one to stay up late anyway).

I have stayed here many times, and considering the prices you pay downtown in Austin (comparable to downtown Manhattan now) it is nice to know you can always count on the Four Seasons to be worth the money you spend.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are best in my opinion for the view.

Attended a very large wedding, maybe 600 people present, and spent two nights at hotel as well. Food and service at wedding, despite its size, was first rate. Enough hotel personnel so that no delays in obtaining food or beverages. Staff was quite attentive to hotel guests during their stay, including a tented lunch on the lawn on day of wedding and a brunch the day after. Couldn't have been nicer. The planning and performance of the hotel staff made for a most memorable and enjoyable event

Room Tip: The junior suites are large and well appointed

It's in a great location, but the hotel is tired. Needs updating, the rooms and lobby. Very attentive at check in and service in the restaurant for breakfast was very good. Overall, I will think snout whether to stay at another hotel.

Dear Ashton,
I appreciate you taking the time to let us know you enjoyed our location, attentive service and breakfast in TRIO. Since you commented on the condition of the rooms, I wanted to be sure to share that we are currently in the midst of a top-to-bottom enhancement that will bring a new look and feel of "residential elegance" to our guest rooms and bathrooms later this summer.
If your travels bring you back to Texas soon, I hope you will consider staying with us again to experience the exciting updates for yourself.
Sincerely,
Rob Hagelberg

The hotel is very nice and in a good location. The food is very good. However, be aware that if you ask for a double room with 2 queen beds, you will be given 2 double beds and told that the 4 Seasons doesn't have queen beds. Very surprising as most high end hotels have queen beds as standard. Also had hammering above me, but only during the daytime.

Room Tip: Ask for ones that overlook the lake.

Dear DD713,
Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words about our location, food and the condition of the hotel. I do want to apologize if we misled you to believe we offer rooms with two queen beds. As you noted, we only offer rooms with one king bed or two double beds at this time. Should this change, we will be sure to change the information on our website to reflect the update.
I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Four Seasons Hotel Austin in the future.
Sincerely,

I stayed here last week for a business meeting. The hotel has been my destination in Austin for years. Staff is great and the location right on Town Lake is excellent. Stayed in a lakeside room on the 10th floor and the view was spectacular. There was however a lot of noise in the hotel from renovations and the construction started early in the room right above me! No one told me that construction was going to be going on. When I checked out they were apologetic however and comped my parking. Would definitely recommend folks to stay here once the renovations are done.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the lake on the higher floors (above 7).

Majbo1,
Thank you for sharing a few details about your recent experience at Four Seasons Hotel Austin, as well as for your loyalty to the hotel over the years. We always love hearing when guests enjoy our location and the high level of service our staff provides.
I was, however, sorry to learn that your stay was impacted by the enhancements taking place at the hotel. Our top priority during these updates is the comfort of our guests and for that reason we have limited noisy work to a handful of days each month and during the hours of 9am and 5pm. When possible, we have also designated a buffer floor to further mute the potential for noise drift. I sincerely apologize that these measures were not able to prevent us from disturbing you.
We expect to begin unveiling the first of our new rooms and bathrooms shortly so I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to the hotel in the future.
Sincerely,
Rob Hagelberg

I simply enjoy and apprecaite the hill country luxury feel tha tthe Austin Fouir Seasons provides. Warm greeting and personal attention frmo the staff, the modern interior colors and textures of the room and common areas, the Trios restaurant is delicious. Located on the North Banks of Town Lake, its an easy walk to the jogging trails or downtown restaurant entertainment scene.

The service and location are unbeatable. Upon check-in, I was given a jogging map around lady bird lake when I asked about running in the area. The room was huge and immaculate and the hotel associates were very customer service centric. I will definately be coming back to this hotel when I have business in the area and recommend this to anyone looking for a true luxury experience!

Room Tip: The back overlooks the water
