“I love this hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

I was first impressed that this hotel smelled great. No perfume cleaners. Space was bright and open. The entire staff was exemplary. Complimentary coffee was fresh ground and just as I liked it. Organic Tea! Located on the river with walking/bike path, this gave us the opportunity to exercise in the city. Early morning breezes. Within walk distance of restaurants, music, Univ of Texas.

Room Tip: We paid more for a water view room. Wonderful to watch the rowers and paddle boarders.

Green Features: Felt at home---natural products in the bath, healthy clean, not chemical. Room temperatures were perfect.

Wanted to stay downtown, to enjoy activites. When we arrived we waited 45min to be helped at front desk, then shown to our room which was badly dated, like 1980's... I was kind of prepared for that after reading all the reviews. But still in shock that a Four Seasons would be so behind. In morning remodeling started about 6am, which woke up my two young kiddos. I called front desk and complained they offered to move me. I agreed to being moved, but next night they shut down all power in hotel around 4am. It's July in Texas you can imagine within a hour what your room feels like after no AC. Anyhow, when power was shut off our fan no longer worked which keeps our young ones asleep. I called front desk and they were apologetic but could offer nothing. Our room had no light either. You would trip and fall on your way to the bathroom because it was pitch black, they offered flashlights though. Another rough morning.... I was very disappointed with Four Seasons, not a relaxing stay. Not up to a Four Seasons standard at all.....

Dear wethog,

Thank you for the time you spent discussing your experience with our Director of Rooms, Danielle McGillen. Again, we appreciate your feedback very much and are so sorry about your recent stay in July. While we are endeavoring to enhance the property and advise all of our guests of the process, it sounds like we did not do a good job of providing you with a restful visit or managing any unforeseen mishaps. Please do let us know when or if your travels would bring you back to Austin and feel free to contact me personally to arrange a return visit as discussed. We feel confident that you will love our newly refurbished guest rooms and look forward to showing them to you soon.

Best Regards,
Rob Hagelberg

Just got home from a business event held at the Four Seasons. When I checked in, I noticed they had a display of the design and materials being used in their renovations and I was fortunate to be a renovated room on the 7th floor. The room was absolutely lovely and the materials top notch. The food that we had at Trio was great as well as the catered breakfasts and snacks. The grounds looked lovely but I unfortunately didn't get a chance to sit outside ...they had a great little spot with andirondack chairs that looked simply inviting.

Room Tip: 7th floor was renovated while 2nd floor hadn't undergone renos yet.

Green Features: The Four Seasons looked to be very committed to being Eco friendly even offering compostable bags in the rooms along with the standard offering to not replace towels and linens on a daily basis. The shower and faucets also seemed to be low flow as well.

This hotel deserves every accolade it receives! It is truly one of the best hotels in the U.S. and is reasonably priced for what it delivers. The location is perfect, downtown, on the river, in a quiet park like setting near the bat-friendly Congress Avenue bridge. Don't worry, the bats only appear at sunset and don't fly near the hotel! The Trio restaurant serves fantastic breakfasts which you can eat outside on a delightful patio. We had the trio of pancakes, Mexican migas, freshly squeezed orange juice and wonderful, friendly and attentive service. The lobby bar also serves food as well as drinks and serves as a convivial meeting place in the evenings. The rooms are about to be remodeled to keep up with the times (they are somewhat dated), but are very comfortable. Parking (valet) runs $32.50 a day. We would never think of staying anywhere else in Austin!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room.

The property is beautiful, the staff professional and friendly. the food was amazing. When I travel, I like to feel just a bit pampered. From the time that I booked into the hotel until the moment I left, I was overwhelmed by a staff eager to assist. I will be back.

Once again, our stay at the Four Seasons Austin did not disappoint. We stayed in a newly renovated lakeside room with a perfect view of Lady Bird Lake. The service, from room service, the spa, lobby lounge and reception is stellar. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Lake view if possible

I work in film production and am constantly utilizing the Four Seasons Austin for Meeting Space and Guest Rooms. They, without fail deliver 100%. The group sales staff, the front desk managers and the F&B folk are top notch pros. I have always had an A+ experience. I highly recommend for any type of event, business or pleasure travel!

Room Tip: Lake View is always best
