If modestly priced on the outskirts of downtown is what you desire, then this is the place! The staff was extremely professional and accommodating. The hotel itself is modern and well-appointed. Self parking is conveniently located under the hotel, but if you fancy valet, that's also available for a bit more. We would have loved to have a balcony and none were available. We discovered only a few rooms had them-make a note in advance if you want a balcony. When returning to Austin, we would likely stay somewhere more central to downtown. It is pretty much located on campus at the U of Austin. This hotel is a 15 minute walk to where all the action is. Other than that, we were very pleased with our stay!

We stayed here overnight for a campus visit and it was a great location and very quiet hotel. We wanted to be able to park (which was free) and then walk the next morning to the UT stadium for our meetings. It was a 5 minute walk away and no further parking hassles! Also, we got in very late the night we checked in and since room service was closed, one of the guys at the front desk directed us to a great burger place right around the corner.

We are staying again next weekend and looking forward to the same ease and access to the UT facilities with a nice, well appointed room. It is very nice to sleep in and then walk a couple minutes to the location you are heading on campus, leaving the car where it is.

This place is a new hotel and conference center right next to the University of Texas in Austin. It is by far the best place I've stayed in Austin. The place is well decorated, the place is well staffed and the rooms are quiet and good sized. The food is excellent and the convenience either to the University, or the State Capital is much appreciated. It's only a short cab ride to the bars on 6th street (the best reason to visit Austin). The cost is OK given the quality of the place.

We stayed here for a 3-day weekend recently and were very impressed with everything about this hotel. We were here with several other couples and relatives for the opening premier of my bro-in-law's (who is a director/producer) new movie. We had a total of five rooms. Some of us were from the Houston area, some from L.A., and some from Philly, and we ALL had nothing but good things to say about this hotel. We chose this hotel for three reasons: 1) it was one of the top 10 with TravelAdvisor.com, and 2) it was within walking distance (right around the corner) from the Dobie Theater where the movie was screening, and 3) reasonable price. What a great choice we made!
Upon entering the hotel, the lobby is very nice, modern and trendy. The front desk staff were some of the most accommodating hotel employees I have ever dealt with. They were absolutely fantastic every time we approached them, whether it be morning, noon, night.....even in the middle of the night (when we arrived after partying in the Sixth Street district). Whenever we needed good restaurant suggestions, they went out of their way to help us, and even called the restaurant(s) and made reservations for us. Then, upon our arrival back at the hotel, as soon as we entered the lobby, they were asking us how we liked the restaurant, food, etc. I hope ATT pays these employees well, because they definitely deserve it.
Our rooms were very nice and CLEAN! I am very, very, very picky about staying in hotel rooms and am always very leary about hotel bedding, but I was very comfortable here. The beds had nice CLEAN fluffy comforters (no stains, no smells). We had a King room, and it was very spacioius with a large (approx. 37") flat screen TV, small table, and a desk/workstation area with internet connections. The internet service (ATT, of course) was fast, and we had no problems with it (we also have ATT service on our laptop). I really liked the bathroom setup with the sink and vanity being separate from the toilet/bathtub. There is a wall separating the sleeping area from the vanity/sink area, then a sliding door goes to the bathtub/toilet room. I could do my hair and make-up while my husband showered, which I normally can't do because of the steam. The marble vanity area was very nice with good lighting. Besides the hairdryer, they also provided a lighted makeup mirror, which was really nice. The bathtub/shower was very nice and clean with a built-in marble bench to either sit on or set your toiletries on.
The location is actually on the edge of the UT campus, which is a good central location for downtown Austin. We were within walking distance or 5-10 minutes drive of everywhere we needed to go. We took cabs down to the Sixth Street area each night, (5-minute cab ride) only because no one wanted to be the "designated driver." (haha) We walked back (from 6th St. to hotel) one night, walking around the grounds of the Capital building, etc. It was 2am, and I couldn't believe the people walking around the Capital Bldg. grounds at that time of the morning. We had a blast!
As to the hotel's restaurants, we never ate at any of them, and we didn't order anything from room service, so I can't comment on that,. They have a nice bar though, and we did have drinks there.
Austin is a happening place, and I definitely will be back, and I definitely will stay at this hotel again because it is a first class hotel in every way!

If you don't mind spending your time in Austin a bit away from the downtown area, then you couldn't ask for a more elegant or up-to-date place than this hotel. Clean, stylish, and nearly new, this hotel adjoins the U of Texas Conference Center, which is also part of the same construction. Of course, if you have business at the Conference Center, then look no further. The restaurants are adequate, if not great, and there's the adjoining shopping street of Guadalupe and the activities available on the 50,000 students campus, including such features as the LBJ Library, an archival center open to the public and a stylish art museum. The rooms have all the amenities, including up-to-date technology such as AT&T's Uverse television system. Self-parking is under the building and is excellent, although there is a substantial charge; yet, it includes the right to go in and out during the day without the so-called benefit of waiting for your car from the valet.

Booked this hotel on Hotwire and must say was shocked in a not-so-good way when discovered the name on this hotel just because it was not one of the major brands I was expecting. I calmed down somewhat after reading some of the reviews and began to look forward to checking it out for myself.
Hotel was easy to get to driving from the airport in less than 20 minutes. Was immediately impressed with the spotless lobby (which inexplicably smelled absolutely wonderful). Check-in was quick, professional and extremely friendly. Did not have an upgraded view room, but staff did best to find room with a quasi-tower view. Ended up in a king room with a balcony. The balcony was actually a massive deck shared with about 10 rooms along the front of the hotel on the top floor. While may not be to everyone's taste, this deck allowed for outside access/fresh air and was lined with beautiful oversized wood deck chairs. This gave the whole room a resort feel and the views from the deck of the UT Tower and Capitol Building were spectacular, especially at night.
Rooms were well appointed with tasteful modern decor. TV with HD box (which allowed for on-screen guide) a big bonus not found in most top branded hotels. Bathrobes provided had to be the most comfortable I've ever worn.
Some may not like the open sink concept with separate bath/toilet but proved to be convenient for us as one could shower while other used sink with no compromise to privacy.
Other positives - Staff always amazingly helpful with city info and more than happy to provide directions and print-outs of maps. FREE wireless internet especially appreciated and unusual to find in better hotels. Small issue with the in-room fridge was fixed at lightening speed after alerting staff.
Only possible negative is location. If you are intent of partaking in the party scene this hotel is a good 20-25 minute walk from the action. This makes quick trips back to the room difficult. Area around hotel has every convenience though including a Taco Cabana!! UT campus is also quite beautiful and peaceful with extremely good security.
Overall a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Really liked the AT&T Center. Very spacious both in terms of rooms and public areas. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable beds. Powerful shower. Great choice of TV channels and movies. Good selection at breakfast and reasonably priced. Had corner room on 7th floor so wonderful views in both locations. Very convenient for UT but also pretty good for Downtown too. Wireless internet worked very well. No complaints.
