I wish there were more than five circles! Not only was Elizabeth's home perfectly arranged and beautifully decorated, it generated a strong sense of peace, tranquility and happiness. Upon arrival there was a warm note and wine (I let Elizabeth know I was celebrating my birthday), and lovely welcome basket that contained just about anything you might need. I felt I was at a resort in the way everything was decorated and pleasing. The views are amazing from inside the home because there are a ton of great windows, and the deck is stunning! It's large and surrounds the entire home allowing many different views, not to mention the breezes. We saw deer, a few hawks and what one of us thought might be a raccoon but we weren't sure. Wineries, distilleries, farms, music venues and more are just short drives away, and most of them were right off of Fitzhugh. A couple of those are even within a short walk from the house. Be sure to check out Elizabeth's suggestions. I would highly recommend this place and plan to come back soon.
We absolutely loved this place! The views from the wrap around porch are amazing & the sunsets are incredible! Perfect location for touring wineries and craft breweries in the area (Jester King was our favorite & it's right across the street!). The house was clean and bright w/ lots of windows. Beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. Great place to stay! Highly recommend!
If you are looking for a private getaway near Austin with room to roam, this is the place. The house was on the second level and surrounded by trees, with an awesome wraparound porch. The house itself had three bedrooms, with high ceilings and a nice open living/kitchen area with lots of windows. We loved the decor!
The main view to the West was AMAZING, especially if you're into sunsets (who isn't?!). You can probably see over 20 miles across the hill country, and it is mostly treetops. The location was great. We were mainly staying there to get out of Austin for the weekend and visit the Jester King Brewery (it was only a 10-minute walk away). The Stanley's Farmhouse Pizza was also well worth the visit. Hamilton Pool and Dripping Springs are also both about 20 minutes away, though we ended up being lazy and just relaxing for the weekend.
This place is on 20+ acres, and the nearest neighbor was probably a few hundred yards away... a GREAT private retreat. We utilized the smoker and had a nice BBQ, followed by some amazing stargazing. We can't get that in the city... and it was so QUIET.
We have had some pretty good vacation rental karma over the years and stayed at some great places in Arizona, New Hampshire, and North Carolina, and this place was right up there. We will come back to stay here again in a heartbeat!
