“Great place for History”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

First, read up on the Cemetery before you go. there are a number of notable Texans buried here. By doing some prep work, you have an opportunity to see Texas history from the Battle for Independence to modern day Texans.

“Historical Cemetary”
Reviewed 21 April 2012

This is one of the most interesting places in Austin. Lots of people in Texas history are here as their final resting spot, which is quiet and peaceful, even though it is in the center of the city.

“Well kept secret!”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

My husband and I went to check out this wonderful part of Texas and our Nation's history due to an essay assignment of my fourth grade class for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. There is so much history here which covers many important people who many important things to change the course of events. Well worth the trip to pay respect and be inspired to learn more about our great state.

“Beautiful, well-maintained cemetery full of history”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

This is a beautiful cemetery to visit and wander around. There are many historical figures buried here. My only complaint were the lack of maps available. I did manage to find a map online so we used our phones to find what we wanted to see. It was definitely worth the time to drive over and check the cemetery out.
