“Lone Northern Soldier”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Many famous Texans are buried here. There is a large Civil War plot area. The one northern soldier from Texas who died during the Civil War is buried away from everyone else in a corner by himself. The audio is well worth renting and the people who work there are very knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

“Beautiful cemetery”
Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

Well maintained, easy access and colorful history of texas in one spot. Take the time to grab an audio tour handset from the office (free) to gain more information on some of the monuments and graves. Great blend of early historical and more recent texans are interred there.

This is a good place for a quiet stroll. The graves are lovely and interesting. The cemetery is very large and kept clean and well landscaped.

“Fulfillment”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

Visited Texas for the first time with emphasis on visiting the grave of Chris Kyle to pay respects. What a beautiful place, and having visited learned so much more about the heroes of Texas. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the caretakers very helpful. Hope to return one day.

“Larger Cemetery - some interesting burials”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

Rode our bikes thru this cemetery. Steven F Austin has a large monument here as well as a lot of military gravestones. We spent 15 minutes riding around which was enough time to see everything.

Good for quick stop if you like cemeteries. Great view of the State Capitol from the cemetery too!
