“A Batty Show!”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

This riverboat tour was a special treat during a recent conference! Our hosts had rented the two-tier Lone Star boat for our dinner cruise and we got to see the bats! Some got pooped on which we were told was good luck...oh well. But the rest of the cruise was delightful and the crew fantastic!

“Missed The Boat”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

So there was some sort of "Bat Festival" going on in Austin ON Congress Bridge the very day we had reserved to check out the sunset bat cruise. We were on foot and had to convince the festival workers to let us through or we would miss our boat (it was a loooong way around if we had to go the other way). Made it through and waited in line at what we thought was the boat... It was not. So we go to the other boat.. cash only. We were all loaded with ATM cards and had about 7dollars cash and 2 cold beers between the 3 of us.
Anyhow, we ended up watching the bats at sunset on land, with all of Austin in attendance trying to keep it weird. It was a spectacular sight to see. I do recommend at least enjoying the view under the bridge as we did. I will definitely check out the boat next time. It's only ten dollars and you can bring your own cold drinks. Just make sure you have the right boat and cash!

“Fun and relaxing time on the lake”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We did the evening bat tour and had a fabulous time. The guides are excellent in the discussions and the boat driving. I had seen the bats from above on the road a few other time but nothing beats being that close and having a million bats fly over your head. Plus the boat is BYOB! What's not to love?

“Great experience!”
Reviewed 7 July 2013 via mobile

We took the cruise on a Saturday night (with reservations we made that morning). We showed up earlier than check in and were glad we did as we were able to choose from the 3 boats. The tour was great and we all enjoyed our guide Danielle who was very knowledgable. The captain Dave took us to the bridge at just the right time to watch the bats. It was by far the coolest thing we did during our stay in Austin and for $10 a person, it was well worth the money! I would highly recommend!!

“Well worth it!”
Reviewed 3 April 2013

We went on the Lone Star bat tour last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Make sure you make reservations (we did) as the boat fills up early. They leave on time so don't be late. The commentary from our guide was the perfect mix of factual and funny. When it came time for the bats, he knew when to go under the bridge and when to back up. My kids loved it as did all the adults. I highly recommend it.
