First time visitor to Austin, once I saw their studios, knew it was exactly the environment I wanted to experience. The spacious unit was colorfully appointed and artistically decorated to make a peaceful environment. The large open space made it nice to visit with my niece after a day at the office without needing to sit on the bed (which was confortable making for a good night sleep) The winding pathways around the property gave multi areas to sit outside, even with private area right outsde the unit and friendly pets to make you feel like you belonged. Well stocked kitchen, if you choice to cook, or take a nice walk through a hillside residential area to S Congress to grab a bite.

I figure if a business owner takes the time to repond in a professional manner to a negative review, then that owner will be responsive if I have issues during my stay. We didn't have issues. We had a great time. The bed was really comfortable. The outside area was a great place to sit/read when we weren't wandering around the Austin area. The funky decor suited our bohemian side. And Christina lent us her kitten as well, which was pretty neat. This is a great alternative to the typical boring hotel.

Went with two friends on a girl trip to Austin -- just an overnight. We stayed at Casa Kenwood and LOVED it! Very "Austin" -- in a residential area, two "casitas" with an amazing backyard patio. We were lucky and got beautiful weather for a February, 60s and sunny. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine with a cheese tray and a lot of great conversation as the sun set.

Christine was our host and was very easy to work with -- the room was designed "Austin funky" and had everything we needed to have a great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Casa Azul -- it was one huge room with a kitchenette, two sofas, a king and a futon...

This is one the best places I've ever stayed in the world.

It's unique, quirky, peaceful, friendly, beautiful, relaxing - everything you could want from a hotel (unless you're on a boring business trip and just need a place to stay).

My wife and I literally had to drag ourselves out to go and see things it was so nice to be in!

We stayed in Casita Roja and it was fantastic - like a little hideaway. The colours and atmosphere of the rooms just couldn't be beaten.

On top of everything the guys running the place were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and at home!

In response to the bad review I've seen of this - if you don't want to be talked to by very friendly people, then you're probably in the wrong city! Austin is one of the friendliest cities I've been to in a long time.

If you're wanting a trip to Austin to experience the South Austin delights then this is the place to go - about a 10 minute walk to South Congress so it's enough out of the way to relax but it totally fits the Austin spirit!

Thank you so much for this guys!

Room Tip: The Casita Roja is a slightly expensive but amazing place to stay if you're a couple. It'd a...

Loved our time in Austin. Great location for walks, beautiful streets, houses, right near south congress for some cupcake love.
The shower, beds, windows, kitchenette, outdoor area and quirky decor were all perfect for our family. I'll be letting all our friends know about this great find
oh......and little Gemma was a wonderful extra :)

This is a late review, I stayed here in the the summer of 2012. My room was Casita Roja and it had a view over the magnificent back garden. Ver clean and cozy, with friendly owners. My dogs loved romping through the grounds and all the shade from the surrounding trees made it a nice, cool pace to sit and relax outdoors, even in the hot Texas summer.
I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Austin who isn't looking for another boring room at the Sheraton or whatever. Thumbs up!

What a contrast, the noise and hussle of the F1 race to a wooded yard with bird chirps and incense. Everything a home away should be without the bore of chain hotels and the foil-wrapped coffee packets. I'd go back for the shower in the Studio Azul alone.

Room Tip: Plenty of free parking right 30 feet from your room.
