“Nice Weekend Trip”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Very nice pool area, attentive wait staff. Enjoyed the views and had a very relaxing trip. I would definitely return to the resort. I was able to get a package deal on Groupon so I'm not sure how the pricing of the resort is when at full price.

we booked this hotel for our anniversary, it took two different room changes to finally get room without a connecting door, at this point we thought about going home because it seemed to be too much of a hassle and we just wanted to have our room. The champagne and strawberries were a lovely touch. Unfortunately because of the time waiting for a room, we had only 5 minutes to order room service for a meal (we had been told that it would be for another hour and that turned out to be incorrect) . Room service was timely but pricey. The furniture had seen better days and the TV had lots of snow. It's surprising for a hotel at this price range to have such poor television reception. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable but the small details were not there. In our room, the picture inside the frame was crooked and you could hear the next door neighbors in their room. AC worked very well, but the decals in the bathtub were coming loose. Overall we would not stay there again.

My wife and I spend the weekend at the Barton Creek Resort and Spa. While our experience was fine, the place seemed a little dated. I think they are doing some upgrading which would be helpful.

We arrived on Friday evening. Check in was efficient and our king sized room was very nice. We were on the 4th floor and only one elevator was in working order, so we ended taking the stairs most of the time.

We dined at one of the restaurants on Friday night. The food was fine and the prices were typical of a hotel like Omni.

The recreational facilities were nice. We did not spend too much time at the pool, but there was a nice crowd on Saturday afternoon. The food at the pool was a bit expensive. There was what looked like a buffet BBQ. We opted for the County Line BBQ restaurant down the road.

The setting and location in beautiful in the Texas Hill Country. All in a good experience.

The staff at the hotel were amazing. All very nice and accomodating. Valet was quick to retrieve our car whever we needed it and always offered bottled water for our trip out of the hotel. The pool service staff was prompt when ordering and all things considered we had an amazing stay. They even had backpacks for the kids upon arrival with crayons, coloring pages and some other fun stuff. The resort is very well maintained and clean. We didn't have one complaint all week.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend. We were married at this hotel seven years ago and always had special feelings whenever we returned. However, since the takeover by Omni, the hotel has definitely gone down in service. We arrived on Friday at 4pm, but our room was not ready. We were offered a complimentary cocktail at the bar while we waited, but by 5:15 our room still was not ready. When we inquired again at 5:30, we were told our room was ready. When we arrived at our room, there was dirty linen from the previous guest on the floor!
I had to go get a member from Housekeeping to remove the linen, and then rather than apologizing, the housekeeper acted like she was doing us a favor.

The next day was not much better. We were out all day, and by the time we returned at 4:30pm, our room still had not been cleaned. I had to make a special call to the front desk to request that it at least be cleaned by 8:00pm. The front desk said they would try their best.

For the price of these accommodations, this level of service is unacceptable. We will not be returning.

Barton Creek Resort used to be a special place to stay and now I chalk it up to another average wannabe 5 star resort. Maintenance issues in the room, inexperienced pool staff, disjointed communication. Expected more based on previous visit and was very let down.

Great resort experience. Fantastic golf! Set in the hill country just out of Austin. Beautiful views, good food, and great service. Fun activities provided for kids too! Didn't try the spa, but it looked to be exceptional in terms of the facility itself. It's far enough outside of Austin to avoid the crowdedness of Austin, but close enough to drive into the city to enjoy all the great amenities of the city.
