This is a great place to get a little historical information on the State of Texas. The exhibits are smart and interesting, and there are plenty of little films shown depicting some (in nice, cool places with comfortable seats). I was in a wheelchair and only had one bad surface to contend with -- but, I really wanted to see the exhibit, so I sallied forth and made it across to a wonderful gallery with terrific paintings by a Plains Indian artist; the museum was not very forthcoming with printed take-home material on the artist, which was a disappointment. As museums go, though, it was a lot of fun.

We visited the museum on a Saturday afternoon (4 kids, 4-13, and 2 adults), price was $62 for all of us. The museum consists of three floors, two small theaters, and interactive displays for the little ones. Very informative and entertaining for all of us. The crowd size was small that afternoon- which made our visit more enjoyable. Lots of historical content about Texas.

Can not say enough about this place. There are static displays and changing exhibits. You get a good understanding of the history of a great state. Give yourself plenty of time to see it all.

This is one of the best museums ever in terms of distinctly Texas history, and much of it is both informative and intriguing. Exhibits change over time, so it's not always the same, but all of it is fascinating. Texas native or not, everyone will glean great tidbits from the visit. Required viewing.

It has a comprehensive history of Texas, well laid out, and beautiful facility. The cafeteria food wasn't too bad either!
